We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented professional for the following positions with the new Nepal Seed and Fertilizer project, funded by USAID and led by CIMMYT:

POSITION: Geo-Spatial Analyst

Reference No: N16641

Work Station: Kathmandu

Qualification: Master’s degree in physical or biological sciences with an emphasis on spatial analysis and GIS. 3-5 years’ professional experience.Excellent working experience with ArcGIS, as well as with remote sensing packages. Broad knowledge of spatial data sets relevant to agriculture, particularly those available in Nepal. Ability to work in a multi-cultural team. Experience working in an NGO or on donor-funded projects a plus. Good command of spoken and written English.

Position description: The Geo-Spatial Analyst will manage geospatial databases and ensure the integration and geo-referencing of all project data; work with project partners to aggregate spatial data from external sources, including remotely-sensed information; conduct geo-spatial analysis in consultation with the science team; provide services on spatial analysis and mapping to the project team, including domain characterizations; train project staff in the fundamentals of geospatial analysis and software use.
