JOB OPPORTUNITY

Forum for Rural Welfare and Agricultural Reform for Development (FORWARD Nepal), a National NGO founded in 1997 working in the fields of food and nutrition security and livelihoods diversification, business promotion and market development, adaptive research and development, natural resource management, climate change and disaster risk management, and promotion of the community-based enterprises invites application from interested energetic qualified Nepali citizens for the following positions for its Head Office and projects.

1) Field Officer/District Coordinator 2-3

QUALIFICATION: B.Sc. in agriculture or related subjects 

Experience: Minimum of two years' experience in the relevant fields or M.Sc. in agriculture with at least one year experience in the similar position. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: The incumbent will be involved in project planning, project implementation, monitoring including staff supervision and resource mobilization, coordination, organizing meetings and workshops, and reporting. 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: The candidates should have ability in written and spoken English and Nepali languages together with computer skills and a valid license for motorbike.

2) Position: Programme Accountant /Project Account Officer (1-2)

QUALIFICATION:  B.B.S/BBA or equivalent 

EXPERIENCE: At least three years of working experience in the similar position. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: The candidates having a good practical skill in book-keeping/inventory management and familiar with FAMAS or other similar computer software are encouraged to apply.  The incumbent must have ability in written and spoken English and Nepali languages.

3) Position: Field Technician/Senior Technician (2-3)

QUALIFICATION:  JT course or I.Sc Ag 

EXPERIENCE: At least three years working experience in the relevant field or JTA with at least five years' experience in the relevant field or I.Sc. Ag with at least two years working experience. 

Those candidates who have done JT/JTA course and graduation degree in other disciplines are encouraged to apply. The candidates having an equivalent education in the non-technical fields and have considerable experience to capacitate farmers on entrepreneurship development, as well as promoting group/community enterprises in the remote areas are encouraged to apply. Candidates with computer skills and a valid license for motorbike will be added advantage.

Contract period for the above positions: These are contractual position initially for 1-2 years with the possibility of extension on mutual consents of the employer and employees. However, candidates with the long-term commitment to work in the organization will be preferred.
