Driver

Terre des hommes (Tdh) is a child protection focused Swiss INGO that has been active in Nepal for 30 years. Tdh Nepal delegation is seeking qualified and dynamic Nepali residents for the following position. 

Position Title: Driver

Reporting to: Finance and Administrative Manager  

Work Station: Kathmandu with travel throughout Nepal as required 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for driving Toyota Land Cruiser safely and cautiously in all circumstances
• Assist to Finance and Admin Department to carry out Market Research for procuring office goods, materials, and other items
• Assist in banking and other duties
• Carry out messengerial services, including partner office visits
• Assist to keep office building neat & clean; including serving of tea and coffee to guests as and when needed
• Supervising maintenance, servicing and cleaning of Toyota Land cruiser, motorbike, filling vehicle logbook and office generator logbook
• Field visit in remote districts and off-road frequently  
• Assist program team in any other admin works as assigned e.g. typing document, managing photocopy as and when necessary

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS/QUALITIES:

• Preferably School Leaving Certificate (SLC) with a minimum of three years of working experience in the I/NGO and other organisations on driving 
• The age of the applicants should not be more than 45 years.
• S/he must have valid driving license and updated knowledge of local traffic laws and regulations, 
• Good knowledge of the traffic condition in Kathmandu and experience of driving in other parts of Nepal.
• Ability to find out fault/problem, recommend servicing or repair of the vehicle and provide basic vehicle maintenance.
• Able to accurately maintain vehicle log-book
• Safe driving experience of Toyota Land cruiser and other off-road vehicle.  
• Able to write and speak English and having the UNDSS security training will be value added.
• Trainings on Safe Driving and minor repair and maintenance is preferable
• Good interpersonal skills

SALARY AND BENEFITS: NPR 16,800 to NPR 30,170 basic salary based on qualification, experience and competency plus provident fund, children and communication allowances.
