CAMRIS International implements the Nepal Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Project, a five-year Mission-wide monitoring and evaluation (M&E) contract. The Nepal MEL Project supports the achievement of USAID/Nepal’s Country Development Cooperation Strategy (CDCS) development objectives by assisting the Mission in planning, designing, conducting, disseminating and learning from more rigorous monitoring and evaluation of development activities. This includes designing and implementing both quantitative and qualitative evaluations and assessments, as well as providing expert analysis and technical assistance to USAID/Nepal’s programs.

The Nepal MEL project has three major components:

  • Component 1: Support greater rigor and coherence in USAID/Nepal’s M&E efforts
  • Component 2: Design and conduct analyses, evaluations, surveys, studies, and assessments
  • Component 3: Support improved knowledge management within the Mission 

CAMRIS seeks an experienced Driver/Logistics Assistantto join the team. This is a full time position based in Kathmandu, with approximately 40 percent domestic travel.The Driver/Logistics Assistant will work under the direction of the Finance & Administrative Manager, and will provide efficient and effective driving and logistical support services to Nepal MEL Project office.

Responsibilities

  • Drive safely and responsibly at all times complying the Nepal driving, traffic and parking rule and regulations.
  • Ensure that the vehicle is used per USAID contract regulations and isin good condition. 
  • Maintain vehicle and report on any mechanical or other issues, including repairs/replacements, to Finance and Administrative staff. 
  • Stay up to date on weather and any security issues that may affect travel, and provide regular updates to Finance and Administrative staff.
  • Renew blue books and emission sticker annually 
  • Update logbooks and obtain the signature of staff 
  • Handle photocopy machine and document bindings
  • Deliver/pickup official mail.
  • Assist Finance and Administration Officer in day to-day bank deposits, withdrawal, collection of check books and monthly bank statement and other bank related duties as assigned.
  • Tax, VAT and CIT deposit to the concerned Offices
  • Responsible for collection and payment of electricity, water, telephone, fax and mobile bills on monthly basis
  • Performs any other duties as directed by supervisor as and when required.

Qualifications

  • Hold a valid driving license and good driving record.
  • Secondary school (high school) diploma required. 
  • At least 5 years of experience in similar position with non-governmental organization, public private sector.
  • Good oral and written English.
  • Good technical knowledge of automobile engines.
  • Knowledge of reception, photocopy, lamination, handle of projector, and binding.
  • Demonstrated experience working with MS Office package, including Outlook email, Word, Excel, etc. 
  • Experience of remote/rural areas of Nepal is desired.
