INTRODUCTION:

 

Action for Child Rights International/ Nepal's mission is to fight against the different forms of abuse in and around child care homes. In the first place we defend the victims, next to that we file complaints against those responsible and reveal the structural problems behind these situations.

As an umbrella organization to ACR International, we follow up every complaint, take all the necessary actions and make public accusations without being halted by any other interests than those of the victims.

Job Description:

 

Communication Manager is one who will not hesitate to take a stand in adovcating the rights of children through various forms of communications and media both externally and internally. Someone who has a strong journalistic appraoch and communications, with creativity to create new programmes to raise awarenss amongst children who could be/ already are victimized, towards other groups who could prevent this from happening.

 

Tasks and Responsibilities:

 

-          Develop media strategy, prepare press releases and build up the strong network with journalists and media houses.

-          Manage the ACRI Website providing updates on the success stories in each department.

-          Develop and oversee the implementation of social media strategy of the organization.

-          Manage the social media accounts, strengthening the organization’s online advocacy platform.

-          Develop and maintain the organizations online and print communication materials and distribute to the target group.

-          Develop and disseminate the media products of organization’s success stories/ general advocacy materials/ case studies and more.

-          Develop and handle both internal and external communication strategy.

-          Develop and Assist Campaigning Group to execute prevention/campaigning program in various levels.

-          Communciation on all of ACR-Nepal’s activities: website, media, campaigns, etc.

-          Manage and coordinate all communication: internal and external

-          Lead the campaign section: develop with the team new campaigsn and coordinate/evaluate on a regulare basis.

-          Bring extra news on our cases and relevant topics: articles, video’s, interviews, etc. You are responsible for making others think about all that happens on the topic of the Orphange Business.

 

Profile:

 

-          You have strong communication skills and counselling skills to deal with victims, supporters and witnesses from varous diverse backgrounds

-          You have a good analytical skills to identify problems and find solutions, also testing the genuinity and urgency of the cases

-          You have complete Masters in Journalism, media or any related field of education

-          You have the ability to deal with the media means and tools, including social media tools and websites.

-          You have photography and Short Video Production and editing skills.

-          You have knowledge on the current child rights issues prevalent in Nepal and innovative Advocacy Skills for effective implementation of Child Rights.

-          You are willing to work on flexible timings and under different kinds of pressure when necessary

-          Preferably someone with his/her own transportation.

-          perfect in English

-          can proof jurnalism experience: blog, articles, video’s, …
