Background

Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls. Plan International has been working in Nepal since 1978 helping marginalized children, their families and communities to access their rights to survival, protection and participation. With the close coordination of local partners and stakeholders, we are working in 14 districts across the country.

We invite applications from interested candidates for Shikshya - Project Preparation Fund in the following capacities:

1. Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning Coordinator (Open to all applicants, Fixed-term employment until March 2028) based in Regional Office- East.

Responsibilities: The position holder provides the MERL expertise required to establish and use valid evidence for the formulation of the upcoming MOFA Japan-funded project through Shikshya - Project Preparation Fund. The role validates targeting, needs, interventions, and results through the Needs Assessment and Pilot Program and applies the evidence to future project design and formulation.

2. Construction Coordinator (Open to all applicants, Fixed-term employment until March 2028) based in Regional Office- East. 

Responsibilities: The Construction Coordinator provides the civil engineering expertise required for school infrastructure, WASH facilities, and other construction works under Shikshya - Project Preparation Fund. The role ensures detailed and accurate technical planning and rigorous implementation control over quality, safety, and schedules, from the Needs Assessment through technical planning, Pilot construction, and technical verification. The role also applies technical findings from the Needs Assessment and Pilot Program to the design and formulation of the upcoming MOFA Japan-funded project, supporting detailed and feasible technical planning. throughout the response.

3. Finance Coordinator (Open to all applicants, Fixed-term employment until March 2028) based in Regional Office- East. 

Responsibilities: The position holder is required to provide the financial management and expertise required to ensure rigorous accountability and compliance for both results and implementation processes in managing Japanese funding under the Shikshya - Project Preparation Fund, including any top-up funding. The role also analyzes the needs assessment and pilot activities to strengthen the cost-efficiency and effectiveness of future project design and budgeting, including projects funded by MOFA Japan.
