Parent Federation of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities-Nepal (PFPID) is a non-governmental organization established by the parents of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (PWIDs) of Nepal. This organization is the national federation representing PWIDs and is registered at the District Administration Office, Kathmandu. PFPID works for the protection, promotion, and provision of services for persons with intellectual disabilities. The Head Office of the organization is located in Devi Marga, Sano Gaucharan, Kathmandu, Nepal. Currently, PFPID-Nepal operates throughout Nepal through its member organizations in 62 districts. The main objective of the organization is to protect and promote the rights of persons with intellectual disabilities for their greater inclusion in family, community, and society at large.

As the following staff is required in PFPID, applications are invited from interested and qualified Nepali citizens:

1. Position Title: Project Manager, CADiR

Department/Program: Collective Action for Disability Rights (CADiR) Project

Duty Station: Kathmandu, Nepal (with regular field visits)

Reports To: Executive Director, PFPID-Nepal

Supervises: Program staff, coordinators, volunteers, and field facilitators under the NFU project

Major Roles and Responsibilities

The Program Manager will be responsible for the overall coordination, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of the CADiR Project. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Lead and coordinate the implementation of project activities in accordance with approved work plans, budgets, and donor requirements under the guidance of Executive Director.
  2. Develop and apply effective monitoring and evaluation tools to track project progress, outcomes, and impact.
  3. Ensure systematic data collection, analysis, documentation, and reporting in coordination with consortium partners.
  4. Maintain strong liaison and collaboration with consortium partners, member organizations, Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs), local authorities, and other relevant stakeholders.
  5. Facilitate meetings, consultations, training sessions, and workshops focusing on disability rights, inclusive education, accessibility, and capacity strengthening.
  6. Prepare high-quality narrative and financial reports, case studies, success stories, and documentation of best practices.
  7. Support communication and visibility initiatives to promote the achievements and impact of the CADiR project.
  8. Ensure timely implementation of project activities and effective utilization of resources.
  9. Provide supervision, guidance, and technical support to program staff and field teams.
  10. Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director or Executive Board.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Educational Qualification

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Development Studies, Education, or a related discipline from a recognized institution.

Work Experience

  • Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in project coordination or implementation, preferably in the fields of education, disability rights, or rights-based development.
  • Experience working with persons with disabilities, families, marginalized communities, or community-based organizations will be an added advantage.

Technical and Professional Skills

  • Strong understanding of intellectual disability, inclusive education, disability rights frameworks, CRPD, and SDGs.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills.
  • Sound experience of proposal writing.
  • Strong coordination, leadership, and organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, email communication, and Monitoring and evaluation  tools.
  • Fluency in spoken and written Nepali and English.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to project sites as required.

2. Position Title: Project Admin Assistant

Department/Program: Project and Admin 

Number: 1

Reports to: Admin and Finance Manager

Duty Station: Kathmandu

Major Responsibilities to be Fulfilled:

a) Support the Admin and Finance Manager in maintaining day-to-day financial and administrative operations of the organization.

b) Assist in maintaining proper financial records, books of accounts, journal entries, vouchers, cheque preparation, and payment processing in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.

c) Support office administration tasks including organizational renewals, official correspondence, document verification, record keeping, membership updates, and logistical arrangements for meetings and workshops.

d) Coordinate and support implementation of project-related activities at central, community, and district levels, including facilitation of meetings, workshops, and stakeholder interactions.

e) Maintain project databases, collect and manage data, prepare periodic reports as per reporting deadlines and formats, and carry out other organizational tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

a) Educational Qualification:

At least Bachelor’s degree in Management, Humanities, Social Sciences, Social Work, or related field.

b) Work Experience:

At least three years of working experience in the social sector, preferably in a responsible position. Experience in disability-related programs will be an added advantage.

c) Other Qualifications:

  • Good knowledge of finance and accounting procedures.
  • Strong skills in documentation, data collection, and data management.
  • Experience in day-to-day office administration and coordination.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and other relevant software for database management.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Nepali.
  • Candidates holding a valid two-wheeler driving license will be preferred.

3. Position: Field Officer(s)

Duty Station: Banke, Bardiya, Surkhet, Kapilvastu, Dang, Gulmi, Kaski, Udaypur, Sunsari, Morang, Illam, Baglung

Number: 12 (Twelve) one in each district

Reports to: Project Manager

Duration: Until end of December 2026 (Annual renewal based on performance)

Major responsibilities to be fulfilled:

  • Work closely with the member organizations of PFPID-Nepal in the assigned districts to facilitate the implementation of project activities.
  • Maintain strong and effective communication between district-level member organizations and PFPID-Nepal central office.
  • Provide technical and administrative support in both programmatic and financial aspects of the project. 
  • Prepare supporting financial documents, including Journal Vouchers.
  • Knowledge of taxation, VAT and TDS deduction.
  • Ability to perform ETDS.
  • Ensure proper documentation and timely submission of all required reporting formats (narrative and financial) from the field.
  • Study, understand, and implement various components of the project effectively at the field level. 
  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor progress, provide support, and ensure quality assurance of implemented activities.
  • Assist in organizing local-level training, orientations, meetings, and advocacy events in coordination with member organizations.
  • Collaborate with the central team to ensure alignment with PFPID-Nepal’s policies and strategic priorities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Preferably bachelor’s degree in social sciences or relevant discipline.
  • At least 2 years of experience in the development sector (experience in the disability sector is highly preferred).
  • Strong understanding of project implementation and financial management.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and facilitation skills.
  • Familiarity with working with community-based organizations, preferably with marginalized or disability-focused groups.
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently within the assigned districts.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and digital communication tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in reporting and documentation.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience or knowledge in the field of disability rights, inclusion, and advocacy.
  • Previous involvement with federations, networks, or parent-led organizations is an asset.
  • Local candidates or individuals familiar with the mentioned geographical area are encouraged to apply.
