Peace Nepal has been implementing the Room to Read–funded Improving Primary School Children's Literacy and Girls Education and Gender Equality in School Education in 10 districts of Nepal in selected schools of Kapilvastu district. The primary goals of these projects are:
- to help children become independent and proficient readers, and
- to ensure girls complete secondary education and develop the confidence and ability to make informed life decisions.
To achieve these goals, Peace Nepal works closely with children, teachers, SMCs, PTAs, parents, local governments, and other key stakeholders. Peace Nepal is now seeking qualified and dynamic full-time staff for the following position:
1. Position: Program Manager- 1 Position
Report to: PNGO Board Chair or Executive Director
Overview of Positions: The Program Manager (PM) leads the overall program related to literacy and Girls’ Education program in the district with close coordination of the Room to Read office. The key role of Program Manager, is to make primary school children independent readers by improving their literacy skills and reading habit, b) ensuring that girls complete at least secondary school and equipped with life skills by overcoming barriers that they face at family, community and school and c) Coordinate with local governments to develop strategic partnership for successful implementation of annual planned activities in line with country strategy of Room to Read.
S/he need to supervise the staff under him/her and will involve in frequent travel to program sites as well as mobilizing and regular interaction with all staffs. This position serves as the main point of contact for Room to Read, the local governments and other stakeholders

2. Position: Social Mobilizers (Few-Female Only) - RE-Advertisement
Report to: GEP Officer
Overview of Positions: The Social Mobilizer, Girls’ Education Program (SM) will be responsible for overseeing Girls’ Education Program Participants (GEPP), program schools, parents, local-level government, and other relevant stakeholders. This position supports GEPP to continue school and learn life skills through Life Skills (LS) and Group Mentoring sessions. SM also ensures that GEPP stays in school longer by regularly tracking GEPP records to identify and 1 mitigate risks that can result in dropouts. This position will report to the Officer, Girls’ Education Program (GEPO) in their respective clusters. This is a field-based position working in GEP clusters with visits to Partner NGO offices as and when required. S/he needs to supervise the staff under him/her and will involve in frequent travel to program sites as well as mobilizing and regular interaction with all staffs. This position serves as the main point of contact for Room to Read, the local governments and other stakeholders
