Hiring of Individual Consultant or Consulting Firm for Two-Day Hands-on Training on Artificial Intelligence (AI)

1. Background

Action for Nepal (AFN) is a Kathmandu-based non-governmental organization working to improve access to quality health, education, clean drinking water, and other essential services for remote and underserved communities of Nepal. AFN works closely with local community partners and places importance on locally led development, transparency, accountability, documentation, and effective engagement with donors and stakeholders.

The increasing development and accessibility of Artificial Intelligence (AI) presents an opportunity for organizations such as AFN to improve workplace productivity, strengthen documentation and reporting, support research and monitoring and evaluation, enhance communication, and develop multimedia content more efficiently.

Recognizing these opportunities, Action for Nepal intends to organize a two-day, twelve-hour, hands-on training programme on Artificial Intelligence for its staff. The proposed training will focus on practical applications of AI within the day-to-day workflows of a development organization, including programme documentation, field reporting, donor communication, research, monitoring and evaluation, knowledge management, multimedia storytelling, office productivity, and simple workflow automation. These areas are consistent with the attached training proposal's understanding of AFN's operational context.

AFN therefore invites qualified individual consultants or consulting firms/companies with demonstrated experience in Artificial Intelligence training, digital productivity, and organizational capacity development to submit technical and financial proposals for the assignment.

2. Purpose of the Assignment

The purpose of this assignment is to strengthen the capacity of AFN staff to understand, use, and responsibly integrate Artificial Intelligence into their everyday professional activities.

The training should be practical, participatory, organization-focused, and hands-on, enabling participants to work with AI tools on tasks relevant to their actual roles rather than focusing primarily on theoretical concepts.

The training is expected to move from AI foundations to practical application, with participants completing real or realistic AFN-related tasks using AI tools on their own laptops.

3. Overall Objective

The overall objective of the assignment is to enhance the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills of AFN staff in using Artificial Intelligence to improve productivity, quality, efficiency, communication, documentation, analysis, and learning while ensuring responsible, secure, ethical, and appropriate use of AI.
