Voice of Children (VOC) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization established on November 2000 with a mission to contribute for the improvement of the living condition of the Street Children and their families in Nepal. The organization mainly focuses on those children, who suffer from various kinds of problems such as sexual abuse, harassment and other forms of violence and exploitation in the street and strives to re-establish them in the society with special attention to their needs and rights. Assistance in different ways and through different programs focused on the enhancement of the physical, mental, social and financial condition is catered to the needy street children and their families in order to reshape their lives.

VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
Voice of Children (VOC), established in 2000, is a non-governmental organization dedicated to protecting and advocating for the rights of children separated from their families, including street-connected, sexually abused, and other at-risk children. VOC implements preventive initiatives against child sexual abuse, with particular attention to sexual violence against boys and other child rights violations. In addition, VOC builds the capacity of vulnerable families and works in collaboration with child protection stakeholders to reinforce local child protection mechanisms.
VOC is implementing a project, “Exploitation Free Zone” with the support of Free a Girl in Godawari Municipality, Lalitpur. The project invites applications from qualified, dynamic, and result-oriented Nepali citizens to fill the following position based in Pokhara.
1. Position: Social Worker -1 (Lalitpur)
Main Responsibilities:
- Mobilize and strengthen the capacity of child clubs and adolescent groups to conduct preventive and awareness-raising activities in schools and communities on child rights, with a particular focus on preventing child exploitation.
- Organize workshops and awareness-raising sessions for parents, caregivers, and community members on child protection, prevention of abuse and exploitation, and available support mechanisms.
- Provide appropriate protection support, referrals, and follow-up services to children affected by abuse and exploitation, in coordination with relevant service providers.
- Coordinate with the police, courts, and other relevant law enforcement and justice-sector agencies to promote access to justice and ensure appropriate protection and support for children.
- Follow up on the activities of Local Child Rights Committees at the municipal level and support strengthened coordination, monitoring, and accountability.
- Collect, document, and analyze relevant data, good practices, lessons learned, and case studies to inform project programming, learning, and advocacy.
- Prepare and submit accurate monthly, quarterly, and periodic project reports within the required timelines.
- Support the overall implementation, coordination, monitoring, and documentation of project activities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, or a related field with at least 2 years of relevant experience in the child rights sector; or Intermediate/+2 with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including Nepali typing and basic digital tools.
- Strong understanding of child rights, particularly child protection, child participation, and the prevention and protection of children from abuse and exploitation.
- Proven facilitation skills, with the ability to effectively conduct awareness-raising sessions, workshops, and community-level activities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Nepali and English.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, with flexibility to work beyond regular working hours when required.
