FAIRMED is a Swiss development organization dedicated to work with its motto “Health for the Poorest”. The organization plays an important role in providing health care access to the marginalized communities and individuals who are prone to diseases, disability, and poverty. The core focus of FAIRMED's work in Nepal is Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) – Leprosy, LF, Kala-azar, etc and Maternal and Neonatal Health (MNH), while it interweaves GESI and Disability Inclusive Development (DID) as cross cutting themes into its programs to strengthen the health system and increase the uptake of public health services. In order to act as the Focal point for organisation’s Communication, and knowledge management, by capturing its achievements, bringing changes into people’s lives, and lessons learned, FAIRMED is looking for a Senior Officer for the position of Communication and Knowledge Management.

The officer will lead all communication and knowledge management functions within the organization. The role focuses on strengthening internal and external communication, enhancing institutional visibility and branding. Extensive visits to project areas to capture program insights and develop quality communication materials such as case stories, reports, newsletters, and web articles.
Required Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
Education:
A Master’s degree from a recognized university in Mass Communication, Journalism, Media Studies, Public Relations, Development Studies, or Social Science.
Experience:
- Minimum
3 years of progressive experience in communication, knowledge management, and
stakeholder engagement, preferably in the development sector.
- Proven experience in developing and managing knowledge products (reports, case studies, best practices, manuals, newsletters, and policy briefs).
- Demonstrated experience in content creation for websites, social media, and multimedia platforms.
Skills & Competencies:
- Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills in English and Nepali (ability to translate technical content into engaging materials).
- Strong digital communication skills, including proficiency in social media management, graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe Suite), and data visualization.
- Creative and innovative in knowledge management, with the ability to present complex information in accessible formats (infographics, videos, etc.), and dissemination in various forums.
- Proven leadership in driving new ideas, campaigns, and strategic communication initiatives.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, take initiative, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical skills to synthesize lessons learned and produce high-quality knowledge products.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, Team work, and ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel frequently to project sites for documentation, storytelling, and mentoring the field staff in knowledge management.
- Training and facilitation skills in knowledge-sharing forums and workshops.
