Rural Women Upliftment Association (RWUA), Haripur-02, Sarlaahi is a non-political, non-profit organization established 33 years ago on Kartik 22, 2050 B.S., with the vision of uplifting marginalized and rural women and communities. Since its inception, RWUA has been working in key areas including women’s empowerment, gender equality, social inclusion, education, health, livelihoods, child protection, Advocacy/lobbying, and transparent local governance, with a strong focus on Dalits, indigenous groups, persons with disabilities, and other marginalized populations. Through community-centred approaches, RWUA has supported capacity development, poverty reduction, counselling on foreign employment, assistance to vulnerable families, and overall empowerment.
RWUA, in partnership with Save the Children, has been funded, Implementing the Sponsorship (SAMUNNATI) Project in Sarlahi District since 2017 in Ishworpur and Haripur Municipalities, focusing on education, health, livelihoods, child protection, and advocacy, policy, and lobby, while continuing its recognised role as a leading gender / Child protection resource centre at district and regional levels.
RWUA now invites applications from interested and qualified Nepali citizens for the following position:

WORKING AREA: Haripur and Ishworpur Municipality, Sarlahi
CHILD SAFEGUARDING:
The position holder will frequently have direct contact with children and/or young people in their day-to-day work. S/he will have to abide by the child safeguarding, protection from sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment (PSEAH) policy, including the RWUA code of conduct. S/he will have to maintain dual adult rules while visiting/meeting with children.
ROLE PURPOSE:
The Field Coordinator – Education is responsible for executing a range of activities within the education sector, focusing on Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) and Basic Education. The role encompasses strategic project planning, implementation, monitoring, reporting, and effective collaboration with local government (LG) counterparts and stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are met.
The incumbent supervises and mentors Field Officers, facilitates research, documents lessons learned, and promotes best practices. The position is accountable for managing field-level education activities, ensuring quality implementation, and preparing comprehensive reports. This role allocates approximately 70% of time to field-level operations and coordination and 30% to reporting and higher-level collaboration.
The Field Coordinator is also responsible for upholding organizational priorities, including safeguarding, zero-tolerance policies, and safety/security measures.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Program Implementation:
- Organize-workshops-trainings-meetings/discussions/interactions/review meetings/learning sharing events as per the implementation plan and timely communicate the roles and responsibilities of the other project staff.
- Ensure that the information from the monitoring & Evaluation system is accessible and usable for program development by maintaining a proper filing (electronic, manual) system for programming.
- Lead, manage, implement, and monitor programme activities effectively and regularly in coordination with the Education Development Coordination Unit, municipality, Consortium partners, and schools (including ECCD, basic education, inclusive education, ReAL program, school leadership, and management approach activities).
- Support to conduct activities for the capacity building of organizations of persons with disabilities (OPDs), the Disability Coordination Committee, and community groups so that they work for the people with disabilities, especially children, for their education through the School at Home approach.
- Support to build the capacity of local government on policy/guideline formulation, development, budgeting, and planning processes on inclusive education.
- Support that the project activities related to child protection, CP advocacy, GESI, and community-based awareness raising on inclusive education will be implemented, coordinating with and thematic staff.
- Support to schools in developing/updating the School Improvement Plan (SIP) in a participatory way with the incorporation of inclusive and quality education, SHN, and safe and green schools.
- As per the guideline developed for parents/caregivers of children with disabilities, engaged with them to understand and influence their positive attitudes fostering toward their children with disabilities.
- Provide parental education, monitor learning environments at home, and offer solutions to improve the learning environment at home.
- Encourage parents to enrol their children with disabilities in schools and advocate for education during home visits and enrolment campaigns.
- Provide a special package of support to children with disability to continue education at home/school (e.g., assistive devices, IEP, need-based prototype inclusive learning materials)
- Support schools to conduct inclusive ECA and sports activities that can be accessible for children with disabilities in collaboration with ECO clubs.
Budgeting and Planning
- Lead the operational planning and budgeting for the education theme (Master Budget, Detail Implementation Plan & Indicator Progress Tracking Tools).
- Contextualise activities and plans in consultation with the Program Manager and Finance Unit to ensure effective implementation.
- Prepare project partnership agreements, operational guidelines, consultant terms of reference (TORs), and sustainability frameworks.
- Support field officers in understanding activity budgets and managing expenditures.
- Develop and implement monthly action plans and assist the Field Officer in doing the same.
- Ensure timely procurement of materials and equipment for project activities.
Monitoring
- Track and update thematic activity progress to ensure alignment with project objectives and timelines.
- Monitor activities for cost-efficiency and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with LGs to promote the sustainability and innovation of education-related interventions.
- Conduct participatory reviews and learning-sharing meetings with LG counterparts.
- Work closely with the Admin and Finance team to address audit compliance requirements.
- Prepare monitoring reports after field visits and share findings with relevant stakeholders.
- Assist in developing and implementing monitoring and evaluation tools to document project successes and challenges.
Reporting
- Consolidate and prepare project reports (e.g., quarterly, semi-annual, annual, and event-specific reports).
- Maintain up-to-date information and data on program activities and indicators on the Online Program Management Information System (OPMIS) and Total reach beneficiaries.
- Provide technical input for LG periodic reports and analyses when required.
- Submit individual monthly/quarterly work plans and progress reports to the Line Manager.
- Document and share project learnings, success stories, and case studies on a quarterly basis.
Capacity Development
- Facilitate training and workshops on education-related activities for teachers, headteachers, MSCs, PTAs, and LG representatives.
- Enhance the capacity of field officers through targeted training programs.
Evidence Generation
- Produce and disseminate IEC materials, policy briefs, factsheets, and learning materials on education and public learning quality.
- Document innovative approaches and evidence of impact from thematic activities.
Safeguarding and Well-being
- Ensure adherence to the organization’s safeguarding policy.
- Report protection concerns to the programme manager.
- Promote the well-being of team members, addressing challenges as needed.
Representation
- Represent the organization in educational forums, meetings, workshops, training, and seminars as directed.
Others
- Perform dual roles in development and humanitarian work during emergencies.
- Undertake additional tasks as assigned by the Line manager under the sponsorship program portfolio.
- Prepared the Samunnati Program report according to the donor-required basic
- Prepared Quarterly/Semi-annual Report/Annual Report according to the Donor's requirements
- Prepared AGM Report/organisational occasional programme.
- Own a two-wheeler and a Valid driving Licence
QUALIFICATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
Education:
- Master’s in education (M.Ed.) from a recognized institution with at least 3 years of relevant experience. or Prior experience in education implementation and sponsorship programs is preferred. Experience working in multicultural environments (3 Years Working Experience in a Coordinator Post)
- Bachelor’s degree in education (B.Ed.) from a recognized institution with at least 5 years of relevant experience. or Prior experience in education implementation and sponsorship programs is preferred. Experience working in multicultural environments.
Skills:
- Profound technical skills in writing, data analysis and knowledge on Excel and other tools.
- Sound knowledge on human rights to education, child rights and issues of SDG4.
- Good skills in networking, coordination, communication, management and advocacy.
- Good Interpersonal Skills to deal with colleagues in the organization and capacity and willingness to work under pressure and multiple deadlines.
- Project management, good communication skills with English and Nepali language competency both in speaking and writing.
- Knowledge of Monitoring and Evaluation, research and documentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated experience in developing inclusive education methodologies and tools.
- Proven track record of working with all layers of government and CSOs.
- Demonstrated experience in small grant handling, monitoring, and reporting.
- Ability to design and implement training programs and curricula.
- Knowledge of the SESP, ReAL Plan, and experience in its implementation is highly desirable.
- Good experience in facilitating training for diverse target groups.
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
- Excellent computer skills (MS Word, WordPerfect, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Enthusiasm for working with diverse, multidisciplinary teams and rural communities.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate with relevant stakeholders.
