Based in Bajura, the organization works across different districts of the Sudurpaschim province. HRC Bajura focuses on integrated community development through need-based, action-oriented, and multi-disciplinary approaches. Key focus areas include social mobilization, human resource capacity development, human rights, livelihood & nutrition, micro-enterprises, infrastructure, climate change adaptation, quality education, health & rehabilitation, advocacy, empowerment, and disaster management.
In partnership with Terre des Hommes (TDH) Germany, HRC Bajura has been implementing the project "Educational Justice and Equal opportunities for children" project in the Bajura District since 2024. HRC Bajura invites applications from qualified, result-oriented, and highly motivated Nepalese candidates for the following position:
Position: Education Development Officer (EDO) – 1 (One)
- Appointment Type: Full-Time
- Duty Station: 75% in Field (25% at office)
- Reporting: Project Coordinator
- Salary and Benefits: As per the organization's norms and commensurate with the project agreement
Purpose of the Position
The Education Development Officer will be responsible for project planning, budgeting, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of the project's education components. S/he will work in close coordination with the Executive Director, Project Coordinator, and other project staff. The EDO will closely monitor target schools and students while contributing to the capacity building of the project team and target groups.
Major Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Work closely with the supervisor to provide technical support in designing, implementing, and documenting all education interventions in coordination with HRC and project team members.
- Assist the supervisor in preparing annual, quarterly, and detailed monthly implementation work plans and budgets, ensuring technical quality, strict timelines, and scope alignment.
- Liaise, facilitate, and coordinate with key stakeholders including municipal authorities, head teachers, teachers, school administrations, and SMC/PTAs for seamless implementation and communication.
- Conduct regular field monitoring and follow-ups to track progress against plans and budgets. Identify challenges, document lessons learned, and highlight emerging needs to support the redesigning of interventions.
- Compile project output and outcome indicators. Assist in generating evidence-based data regarding children's learning and well-being. Prepare and compile monthly, quarterly, and annual progress reports.
- Coordinate with TDH/Germany and HRC teams to manage administrative, procurement, and financial settlement requests for events, goods, and services.
- Other Duties: Perform any other tasks assigned or delegated by the HRC and Project Coordinator.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Education (B.Ed. / M.Ed.).
- Minimum of 5 years of working experience for Bachelor's degree or minimum of 3 years of working experience for Master's degree in the education sector.
- Specific experience in Early Childhood Development (ECD), child-friendly teaching-learning practices, quality education, and model school concepts.
- Strong working experience in project management with a particular focus on Activity-Based Learning (ABL), Inclusive Education, Education in Emergency (EiE), School Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), and systems supporting effective programming.
- Deep understanding of Government of Nepal education policies, programs, priorities, and contemporary issues in school education.
- Proven experience in project cycle management, including planning, budgeting, monitoring, reporting, partner management, and proposal development.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Nepali and English.
- Must possess a valid two-wheeler driving license and have proven experience riding on off-road or hilly terrain.
