Group of Helping Hands (SAHAS) Nepal is a non-profit making non-governmental-organization founded in 1996 since then engaging social mobilization, grassroots organisation/Community-Based Network Organisation (CBNO) formation and enhancing their capacity through partnership and implementing diverse programme and projects in the sectors of sustainable agriculture, livelihood, food security, climate justice, advocacy and lobby, quality education, youth development in 21 districts of Nepal.
SAHAS Nepal is implementing the "Advancing Climate Resilient Communities (HOPE) Project" in Jajarkot district. This project aims to improve the lives of climate of vulnerable communities in Karnali province by promoting social and economic inclusion. It strengthens community climate resilience through climate resilient agriculture, diversified livelihoods and community-based disaster risk reduction while empowering communities to drive climate justice and sustainable development.
SAHAS Nepal is looking the potential candidates for the following positions:
1. Position: CBNO and Advocacy Coordinator
Duty station: West Rukum district
Required number: 1
Academic qualification/experiences:
- Master's degree in Humanities, Social Sciences, Social work, Rural Development from recognized university with five years experiences or Bachelors degree with eight years of experience in social mobilization and community development
- Experiences of working in lobby, advocacy, social, economic and cultural rights
- Experiences of collection of issues, documentation, case study in local contexts
- Good coordination skills and efficient team player
- Excellent writing report and communication in English and Nepali
Key responsibilities:
- Supervise and support for the formation of Community Based Organisation (CBO), Main Committees (MCs) and Community Based Network Organisations (CBNOs)
- Strengthen CBNOs capacity to lobby and advocacy, and social, economic and cultural rights
- Linkage among CBNOs, CBOs, MCs and Rural/Municipality and non-government organization for resources leverage
- Provide technical support to the district project team in planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the activities as per project's objectives
- Review project budget, track the expenditure of budget regularly
- Provide technical backstopping to strengthen Local partner (LNGO)
2. Position: Monitoring Evaluation Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Officer
Duty Station: Jajarkot district
Required number: 1
Academic qualification/experiences:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Science/Rural Development or equivalent from a recognized university with at least 2 years of working experiences in monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning (MEAL)
- Good coordination skills and efficient team player
- Good knowledge on program monitoring and data collections, data analysis and reporting
- Proficiency in MS Office and demonstrated skills in statistical packages such as SPSS
- Excellent writing report and communication in English and Nepali
Key responsibilities:
- Assist project team in project planning, adopting monitoring tools, setting up timelines and measuring progress
- Support the project team in documenting results and learnings, and ensure all reporting requirements are fulfilled in a timely manner
- Organize capacity building of project staff on M&E methodologies and other relevant trainings as per the requirement
- Work closely with Project Officers and Coordinators to ensure that impact, outcome and output level indicators are reported and monitored
- Collection of relevant data, development of case studies, pictures and video documentation
- Coordination baseline, midline and end-line survey and prepare reports
3. Position: Admin and Finance Officer
Duty Station: Jajarkot district
Required number: 1
Academic qualification/experiences:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Management or related field
- A minimum of three years of relevant experience in a similar position in I/NGO
- Sound knowledge of accounting software like Moneyworks/FAMAS or similar would be an added advantage.
- Proficiency in MS Office especially in Excel
- Ability to work in multi-cultural and multi-dimensional team
- Sound financial management skills, attention to details and mathematical proficiency
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Nepali
Key responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyse accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and comply with reporting and procedural standards.
- Prepare vouchers and record transaction in the accounting system after obtaining proper approvals.
- Prepare periodic account reconciliations, income and expenditures reports and budget vs. actual expenses report for the project
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial report under appropriate activities
- Prepare advance request, travel authorization and settlement
- Comply with local tax laws and regulations
- Facilitate in procurement, field staff movements and employee leave records
- Maintain keeping inventories of fixed and consumables and physical count
- Assist Project Coordinator, District team and finance team-central in budgeting and cash flow projection of field office
- Monitor project site for proper maintenance of documentation
- Financial monitoring and support to strengthen the financial management of Local Partner
4. Position: Climate Justice Technician
Duty Station: Jajarkot district
Required number: 2
Academic qualification/experiences:
- Intermediate or 10+2 in Agriculture (JTA) from recognized university or equivalent with at least two years working experience in relevant sectors
- Willing to work in remote rural municipalities with disadvantaged groups
- Knowledge of activities planning, reporting and monitoring of agriculture, social mobilization and community development program
- Experience of counseling, advocacy of various social issues including climate justice a with local dialect
Key responsibilities:
- Support for the formation of CBOs, MCs and CBNOs
- Planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the project activities
- Good coordination and management with local government, NGOs and communities
- Organize project related trainings and advocacy
- Prepare report with documentation of various advocacy issues
5. Position: Social Mobilizer
Duty Station: Jajarkot district
Required number: 4
Academic qualification/experiences:
- 10+2 passed or equivalent with two years working experiences in advocacy and lobby, facilitators, human rights and social mobilize fields
- Experience of counseling of social justice and gender equity with local dialect
- Committed and interested to work in remote communities with facilitation, communications skills, engagement and local languages
- Knowledge of activities planning, reporting, monitoring, social mobilization coordination
- Ability to conduct training, data collection and report writing skills
Key responsibilities:
- Promoting Gender Equity and Social Justice
- Support for the formation of CBOs, MCs and CBNOs groups
- Organize CBOs meeting and capacity building training
- Conduct various capacity building trainings and workshops
- Manage project activities' survey and data collections
- Implementation and documentation of project planned activities
6. Position: SAMVAD Associate
Duty Station: Jajarkot district
Required number: 1
Academic qualification/experiences:
- 10+2 passed with one year working experience in SAMVAD
- Skills of Facilitation technical backstopping
- Knowledge of advocacy campaigns and social awareness
- Ability to organize SAMVAD led activities
- Communication skills, sincere and flexible on working hour
Key responsibilities:
- Support for SAMVAD group formation
- Plan and implement SAMVAD activities
- Manage and support SAMVAD animators for facilitating SAMVAD Centers
- Organize capacity building and trainings for SAMVAD adolescent girls
- Conduct advocacy campaigns and awareness sessions for SAMVAD
- Communication and coordination with local government and like-minded organizations
