Shilichong Club Social Development Centre (SCSDC) is a non-profit organization registered and based in Sankhuwasabha District, Nepal. SCSDC works at the community level focusing on social development initiatives and has collaborated with local governments, national and international development agencies in the areas of nutrition, education, livelihoods and others.

SCSDC, in collaboration with Shanti Volunteer Association (SVA) Nepal, will launch the project for “Improvement of Basic Education at Community Schools through Early Childhood Education and Development (ECED)” in Madi and Dharmadevi Municipalities of Sankhuwasabha District, starting from March 2026.

Shanti Volunteer Association (SVA) is an international non-governmental organization established in Japan in 1981, working to foster a peaceful (shanti) society that respects human dignity and diversity through the values of “living together and learning together.”

SCSDC invites interested and qualified Nepali candidates to apply for the following positions:

1. Project Engineer (1 position)

Reporting To: Project Coordinator

Duty Station: SCSDC Office, Khandbari, Sankhuwasabha, with frequent field visits

Contract Duration: Initially one year, extendable

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical planning and provide engineering support for school construction, renovation, WASH facilities, and furniture/equipment set-up under the project.
  • Coordinate closely with schools, local governments, and relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation.
  • Monitor construction quality, timelines, safety standards, and disaster-resilient design in line with approved plans.
  • Identify, document, and report technical issues or delays in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate technical records and documentation related to construction, renovation, WASH facilities, and furniture/equipment set-up activities.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies, ethical standards, and inclusive, child- friendly construction practices.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in construction/project engineering (NGO/education projects preferred)
  • Experience in school construction, WASH facilities, and contractor supervision
  • Knowledge of government construction and procurement regulations
  • Experience of and driving license of two-wheeler vehicle

2. Finance and Administration Officer (1 position)

Reporting To: Project Coordinator

Duty Station: SCSDC Office, Khandbari, Sankhuwasabha

Contract Duration: Initially one year, extendable

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Bookkeeping, financial transactions, and banking operations
  • Preparation of vouchers, journals, financial reports, and statements
  • Tax compliance, audits, donor reporting, and financial documentation
  • Administrative support, procurement, inventory, asset management, and organizational renewal
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding and organizational policies

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Studies, Management or related field
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience (donor-funded project experience preferred)
  • Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, email, power point and other
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and organizational skills
  • Strong command of Nepali and English

3. Field Coordinator (2 positions, Madi & Dharmadevi Municipalities)

Reporting To: Project Coordinator

Duty Station: Respective Project Municipalities, Sankhuwasabha

Contract Duration: Initially one year, extendable

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the Project Coordinator in implementing ECED project activities at the field level.
  • Ensure all interventions, including classroom improvements, WASH facilities, teacher and facilitator trainings, storytelling, reading promotion, and community awareness activities, are inclusive, child-friendly, gender-sensitive, and culturally appropriate.
  • Engage closely with schools, School Management Committees (SMCs), teachers, ECED facilitators, parents, and community members to strengthen home–school linkages, foster community participation, and ensure ownership of project interventions.
  • Maintain regular coordination with local government authorities and support joint monitoring visits.
  • Assist in integrating project activities into local education plans and annual budgets, and facilitate coordination meetings, LPAC meetings, and social audits.
  • Conduct field-level monitoring, collect quantitative and qualitative data, maintain proper documentation, and submit timely progress reports.
  • Support capacity-building initiatives by organizing and facilitating trainings, mentoring, and coaching for teachers and ECED facilitators.
  • Promote the application of child-friendly teaching methods and improved classroom practices.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safeguarding and child protection standards and raise awareness among teachers, facilitators, parents, and community members.
  • Maintain accountability, compliance, and ethical standards throughout project implementation.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in ECED/basic education or community development projects
  • Experience working with community schools and local governments
  • Willingness to travel and work in remote field conditions, experience of and driving license of two-wheeler vehicle.
  • Computer skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in Nepali, knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
  • Basic command of English is an asset.

4. Field Assistant (1 Position)

Reporting To: Finance and Administration Officer

Duty Station: SCSDC Office, Khandbari, Sankhuwasabha

Contract Duration: Initially one year, extendable

Position Summary:

The Field Assistant will support office cleanliness, administrative tasks, logistics, messenger services, and hospitality to ensure smooth office and project operations.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum Basic to Secondary Level education
  • At least 1 year of experience as an office/field assistant (NGO experience preferred)
  • Honest, reliable, and service-oriented
  • Two-wheeler driving license is an added advantage
