Jan Jagaran Youth Club (JJYC) is a national, not for profit, humanitarian development and non-governmental organization working since 1998. It is a well-established youth-led organization that works on empowering rural communities through various inclusive Education, WASH, GEDSI, DRR and Climate change, knowledge management, human rights and sustainable livelihood enhancement programs. JJYC, Bara hereby invites applications from experienced and qualified Nepalese citizens for the following positions for anticipated aquaculture/fishery project with supporting agencies:

Details of Announcement:

1. Aquaculture Specialist (AS) – 01 position

Aquaculture Specialists would collaborate with government agencies, private sector, companies, fish feed industries and other value-chain actors. The AS support in production and capacity building of commercial industry, technicians at private and public fish farms, hatcheries rear, process, and support fish marketing process. He/She works closely with aquaculture market including fish farmers, seed and feed millers, processors, dealers and sub-dealers. AS can also assist commercial aquaculture companies with business plans and economic forecasts. The AS also prepares annual plans and calendars and shares with the project team. Coordinates with government offices, fish farms, hatcheries, breeding centers for information gathering, dissemination of knowledge and skills and learning. 

Location: JJYC, Head Office with frequent travel to Bara, Rautahat, and Sarlahi (Multiple Municipalities)

Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Fisheries/aquaculture, agriculture, or a related field. Master in fisheries is preferable with 2-5 years of experience.

2. Aquaculture Field Coordinator (AFC) – 01 position

This position will oversee the implementation of the aquaculture program in the selected municipalities, coordinating the activities of the Aquaculture Field Facilitators (AFFs). The AFC will work closely with local farmers, providing technical support, ensuring the effectiveness of the activities, and assisting in monitoring and reporting.

Location: Bara, Rautahat, and Sarlahi (Multiple Municipalities)

Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Fisheries/aquaculture, Agriculture, or a related field.

3. Aquaculture Trade Coordinator (ATC) – 01 position 

The Aquaculture Trade Coordinator will focus on developing market linkages between fish producers, hatcheries, feed mills, input suppliers, processors, and traders. The position will work intensively with the private sector to promote trade facilitation, improve sales channels, and ensure quality and compliance standards. The ATC will also support local entrepreneurs in feed, seed, and equipment businesses to strengthen the aquaculture market system.

Location: JJYC head office, Kalaiya with frequent field visits to project area. 

Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in aquaculture, fisheries, agriculture, agribusiness, Economics, Sociology or a related field.

Minimum 2–3 years of experience in aquaculture, market coordination, supply chains, or projects related value-chain and livelihood.

4. Admin and Finance Officer (AFO)-1 position

The Admin Finance Officer will be responsible for financial management, office administration and logistics management of the project. 

Location: JJYC head office, Kalaiya with 30% field visits to project area. 

Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or equivalent. Minimum 2-5 years of work experience in finance, administration and logistics
