Panchtara Yuwa Samrakshak Manch (PTYSM) is a non-profit, non-governmental, humanitarian, and development organization registered with the District Administration Office, Jajarkot, and affiliated with the Social Welfare Council. Established in 1997, PTYSM is led by dedicated young development professionals and social workers with extensive experience in rural development. The organization operates across Karnali Province with a focus on improving food security, nutrition, livelihoods, education, disaster risk reduction (DRR), humanitarian response, protection, and disability inclusion for marginalized communities. PTYSM’s work is guided by the principles of equity, inclusion, and resilience, ensuring that women, disadvantaged groups, and persons with disabilities benefit from its interventions.

PTYSM is currently implementing the Sahayatra-III Project and the Adolescent Maternal and Newborn Health (MNH) Project in partnership with Save the Children International in Chhedagad Municipality of Jajarkot district. The Sahayatra-III Project is an integrated initiative covering education, child protection, child rights governance, sexual and reproductive health rights, and climate change and green jobs. Its primary goal is to improve the quality of education, protection, and child rights for the most deprived and marginalized children. The Adolescent MNH Project focuses on enhancing the health and well-being of parenting adolescents, mothers, and newborns through strong collaboration with communities, local governments, and relevant stakeholders.

PTYSM invites applications from qualified, competent, and self-motivated Nepali citizens for the following positions:

1. Technical Coordinator – Adolescent MNH (Re-advertised)

Location: PTYSM Field Office, Chhedagad Municipality, Jajarkot (50% field travel)

Type of Contract: Annual

Role Purpose:

Under the supervision of the Programme Coordinator, the Technical Coordinator will provide technical leadership and support for the Adolescent MNH Project at district and municipal levels. Responsibilities include improving quality of care, providing technical backstopping, capacity building of staff and government counterparts, and coordination with community stakeholders.

Scope of Role:

  • Reports to: Programme Coordinator
  • Supervises: Dotted-line supervision of Field Officers and Field Mentors
  • Budget Responsibilities: None
  • Role Dimension: A critical technical role ensuring effective implementation and achievement of program outcomes.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Nursing, Midwifery, or Medicine with 3 years (1.5 years for GEDSI applicants) of experience in maternal and neonatal health, OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Midwifery, or Medicine with 5 years (2.5 years for GEDSI applicants) of experience in onsite coaching and mentoring.
  • Skilled Birth Attendant (SBA) training is mandatory.

2. Field Officer – Climate Change and Green Jobs

Location: Chhedagad Municipality, Jajarkot with 80% Field

Type of Contract: Annual

Role Purpose:

Under the direct supervision of the Project Coordinator – Climate Change and Green Jobs, the Field Officer – Climate Change and Green Jobs will lead and facilitate community-level climate change and green job initiatives. The role requires close coordination with local government units including agriculture, environment, disaster management, and education as well as stakeholders, youth groups, schools, and other community actors. The Field Officer will work collaboratively with municipal environment, agriculture, and education units, public and private sector actors, and relevant thematic coordinators to create an enabling environment and ensure activities meet quality standards. The position also involves providing onsite technical support and coaching to community members, groups, and local workers to promote climate resilience and sustainable livelihood practices.

  • Role Dimension: This position is supportive position for ensuring the result of Sahayatra III project under Climate Change and Green Jobs.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 3 years Diploma in Environment Science, Natural Resource Management, Agriculture, or a related field with 2 years of demonstrated work experience in climate change or environmental projects.
  • Experience in projects related to climate change adaptation, mitigation, and promotion of green jobs is preferred.
  • Experience working closely with local government and community structures.
