Sabal Nepal is a non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting inclusive development, social justice, and the empowerment of marginalized communities across Nepal. Working in close collaboration with local stakeholders, government agencies, and development partners, the organization implements programs focused on community development, governance, livelihoods, and social inclusion, with strong commitments to transparency, accountability, gender equality, and safeguarding.
In this context, Sabal Nepal, a non-profit social development organization, is implementing the Disability Inclusive Disaster Risk Reduction (DIDRR) Project, supported by CBM Global. The project aims to enhance disaster preparedness and build resilience among persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups in two municipalities of Saptari District, Madhesh Province.
Sabal Nepal invites applications from interested and qualified Nepali citizens aged 18 to 40 years for the following positions. These roles are based in Saptari District and will be stationed in rural municipalities or municipalities as required by the project.
Position: DRR & MEAL Officer -1
Qualification and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Disaster Management, Environmental Studies, Social Work, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), community-based disaster management, or related fields, with a strong focus on inclusivity.
- Proven experience in monitoring, evaluation, and reporting within DRR or community development projects will be an asset.
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders, including government agencies, development partners, DRM-related stakeholders, and Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs).
- Demonstrated experience in project reporting, documentation, and knowledge dissemination.
- Strong project management skills, including experience with MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning) processes and community mobilization.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Sound knowledge of inclusive DRR policies and accessibility standards, particularly in working with marginalized communities and OPDs.
Assignment: Approximately 30% office-based work, including coordination and reporting, and 70% fieldwork, including supervision and backstopping, subject to adjustment based on program requirements.
