Good Neighbors International Nepal has been working since 2002 for improving the lives of poor people, especially children through child protection, education, income generation, health services, water, sanitation and hygiene, disaster risk reduction/climate change adaptation, and advocacy programs. Currently, Good Neighbors International Nepal serves marginalized, vulnerable, and poor children, families, and communities in 20 districts across Nepal.

Good Neighbors International Nepal is implementing Nuwakot Response and Recovery Project (RRP-Nuwakot) in Nuwakot to support recent Bhotekoshi flood affected communities to transition from immediate relief to safe, dignified, and sustainable recovery through integrated assistance in basic services, child protection, education, and livelihood restoration, including skills development, enterprise support, asset recovery, and market linkages.

Good Neighbors International Nepal now invites applications for the following position:

POSITION: 

Team Lead – Emergency Project, Nuwakot Response and Recovery Project (RRP-Nuwakot), Nuwakot Based (One)

Scope of Work:

The Team Lead – Emergency Project will provide overall leadership for planning, implementation, coordination, monitoring, compliance, and quality assurance of RRP-Nuwakot. S/he will guide project staff and partners to deliver integrated response, recovery, and resilience interventions for flood-affected children, families, schools, and communities, while ensuring safeguarding, accountability, donor compliance, and coordination with government and local stakeholders. The position will serve as the field-level focal person for effective project delivery.

Job Description:

The key deliverables include but are not limited to:

• Lead overall planning, implementation, coordination, and management of RRP-Nuwakot in line with approved project documents, work plans, budgets, donor requirements, and organizational policies.
• Provide strategic and operational guidance to project staff, implementing partners, and technical teams for integrated interventions in child protection, PSS, education, health, WASH, livelihoods, DRR, and community recovery.
• Ensure inclusive, child-centered, and needs-based programming by integrating gender, disability, conflict sensitivity, community participation, safeguarding, accountability, and Do No Harm principles.
• Coordinate effectively with local governments, DDMC, DAO, ward offices, government line agencies, schools, health facilities, community structures, and development/humanitarian actors.
• Establish and maintain partnerships and regular coordination mechanisms, including review meetings, joint monitoring visits, stakeholder consultations, and information sharing.
• Monitor project progress, budgets, indicators, risks, and quality standards through field visits, review meetings, and coordination with MEAL, Finance, Procurement, Logistics, Administration, Communications/PD, and technical teams.
• Ensure timely data collection, validation, reporting, documentation, and learning, including progress reports, case studies, success stories, lessons learned, and donor/periodic reports.
• Develop and implement capacity-building plans and provide coaching, mentoring, technical guidance, and supportive supervision to staff, partners, and relevant stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with Good Neighbors International Nepal policies, donor requirements, Government regulations, project agreements, safeguarding standards, and humanitarian principles.

Key Competencies:

• Master’s degree in Development Studies, Disaster Risk Management, Social Sciences, Public Health, Education, Management, Agriculture, Social Work, or a related field.
• Minimum five years of relevant experience in humanitarian response, disaster recovery, development, or multi-sectoral programme management.
• Proven experience in project planning, implementation, monitoring, coordination, partner management, donor compliance, and reporting.
• Experience in relevant sectors such as child protection, safeguarding, PSS, education, health, WASH, livelihoods, DRR, or community resilience.
• Strong leadership, team management, analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and adaptive-management skills.
• Excellent communication, reporting, facilitation, and representation skills in English and Nepali.
• Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, accountability, integrity, and the Do No Harm principle, with willingness to travel frequently to project areas.
