Position Title: Research Officer
Required Number: 2 (1. Business Development and Coordination 2. Technical – Tools and Report Writing)
Working Days: 5 days a week, Monday - Friday (On-site)
Contract: Full-time
Job Description (Business Development and Coordination):
- Support and lead preparation of technical and financial proposals, EOI, and concept notes.
- Identify and track relevant tenders, RFPs, consultancy opportunities, and potential clients/partners.
- Conduct networking and business development activities with clients, consultants, researchers, and partner organizations.
- Identify, communicate with, and coordinate external consultants and technical experts for proposals and projects.
- Prepare project budgets, workplans, timelines, staffing plans, and other proposal-related documents.
- Coordinate fieldwork, including planning, logistics, team deployment, training/orientation, and communication with field teams.
- Support project coordination and ensure timely follow-up with clients, consultants, and internal teams.
- Maintain and systematically archive proposals, project documents, consultant databases, organizational profiles, and other relevant records.
- Support preparation of presentations, company profiles, capability statements, and other business development materials.
- Contribute to overall project management, documentation, and any other research task assigned by the management/team.
Job Description (Technical – Tools and Report Writing):
- Support and lead preparation of technical proposals, EOI, inception reports, and other technical documents.
- Develop research/evaluation tools, questionnaires, interview guides, checklists, and other data collection instruments.
- Support data cleaning, analysis, synthesis, interpretation, and presentation of findings.
- Serve as the technical focal point for assigned projects and coordinate with clients, consultants, field teams, and other stakeholders.
- Lead or support preparation of training and orientation materials and facilitate training for research teams.
- Lead drafting of research, evaluation, assessment, and other technical reports, ensuring high-quality analysis and presentation of findings.
- Compile and synthesize findings from different data sources, primary / secondary, consultants, and field teams.
- Develop presentations, findings summaries, briefs, and other project deliverables.
- Coordinate with external consultants and technical experts to ensure quality and timely completion of deliverables.
- Finalize technical outputs for quality, consistency, accuracy, and alignment with project requirements.
- Support project planning, documentation, knowledge management, and any other official tasks assigned by the management/team.
Skills/Requirements:
- Excellent English and Nepali skills for communication and writing
- Proficient in research methodology, writing, coordinating, and business development
- Good proficiency in evaluation and critical analysis
- Master's preferred from a relevant field of study for research and development
- 2-3 years’ experience in a research company or firm
- Excellent computing and formatting skills; MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, email, etc.
- Good skills in mobile data collection applications and statistical tools
- Able to multitask and juggle different roles at the same time
- Able to adapt to an extremely fast paced environment
- Able to work absolutely independently with minimal supervision
