Equity Society Nepal (ESN)

1. Background

Equity Society Nepal (ESN) is a leading non-profit, non-partisan, non-governmental organization in Nepal, working since 2023. The main objective of ESN is to combat caste-based discrimination, support access to justice, and ensure proportional participation of marginalized and discriminated communities in government processes. ESN works with Dalits, women, and persons with disabilities, as well as individuals who face untouchability, discrimination, oppression, injustice, inequality, and deprivation due to pervasive caste-based discrimination. ESN also manages the international secretariat of the Asia Dalit Rights Forum (ADRF), a regional platform representing communities discriminated against based on caste, work, and descent.

Recently, ESN has launched a new project in partnership with Nepal Voters’ Rights Forum (NVRF), with primary financial support from the European Union (EU). The project is being implemented through a consortium of five organizations, led by NVRF, with four co-applicants: Dalit with Disabilities Association Nepal (DDAN), Purple Foundation (PF), YUWA, and Equity Society Nepal (ESN).

Currently, ESN is seeking applications from competent, committed, dynamic and result oriented Nepalese citizens for the following two positions:

1. Project Officer- 1 Position (Open to all applicants) based in Kathmandu

Job summary:

The Project Officer will lead the planning, coordination, and implementation of activities under the CLAIM Project, ensuring effective data management and timely periodic progress reporting on activities and results achieved. The position will support policy analysis and advocacy initiatives led by Equity Society Nepal and work closely with, and complement, the project’s technical team to contribute to the achievement of project objectives. Qualification and Experience:

Completed Bachelor’s Degree in Humanities and Social Sciences, or any relevant discipline. At least three (3) years of proven experience in advocacy planning, stakeholder coordination, and activity implementation. Previous experience working with persons with disabilities and/or EU funded project will be considered an added advantage.

2) Finance Officer- 1 Position (Open to all applicants) based in Kathmandu.

Job summary: The main purpose of this position is to ensure effective and transparent financial management of the CLAIM project and Equity Society Nepal. The position will lead budget planning and monitoring, ensure accuracy and quality in accounting and financial documentation, and prepare timely and accurate periodic financial reports for submission to the Lead Applicant in compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements. Qualification and Experience:

Completed Bachelor’s Degree in management. Masters' degree in relevant disciplines will be an added advantage. Three (3) years' work experience in Financial Management ideally in not-for-profit sector (NGOs/INGOs). Previous working experience in EU-funded projects will be considered an added advantage.
