Position Overview

The Partnership and Safer Program Coordinator will work across departments to strengthen partnerships under the field office. The job holder is responsible for supporting the field management team in the overall management and strengthening of partnership management, in line with the Save the Children (SCI) partnership strategy framework. This position is also equally responsible for building the capacity of SCI and its partners on safer programming, in direct coordination with the CO Safeguarding Focal Person and in collaboration with different departments and project teams.

The Program Coordinator – Partnership and Safer Program is responsible for ensuring that partnership management follows SCI standard processes and the Nepal Country Office's Partnership Strategy. Furthermore, the position holder will facilitate partners under the 'Nepal Partner Graduation Model' to develop and implement partner organizational capacity development plans, following a detailed organizational assessment. The job holder needs to create a learning-sharing forum for partners and document key learnings and promising approaches for dissemination across CO teams and SCI regions and offices.

The position holder is equally responsible for ensuring the smooth implementation of SCI safeguarding policies among SCI staff and partners under the field office. S/he needs to work with different departments to plan, implement, monitor, and review projects through the lens of safer programming. In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and to vary working hours accordingly.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in social sciences or equivalent with minimum of 3 years (2 years for GSI group) of relevant experience in I/NGOs or bachelor’s degree with minimum of 5 years (3 years for GSI group) of relevant experience in an I/NGOs

Essential

  • Thorough understanding of and demonstrated commitment to child rights issues and the guiding principles of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, including non-discrimination, child participation, and the best interests of the child. 
  • Practical experience in partnership management processes, including capacity strengthening and organizational development practices.
  • Experience in project monitoring and evaluation.
  • Experience in planning and undertaking training programs/workshops for partners.
  • Demonstrable commitment to Children's Rights.

Desirable

  • Extensive knowledge of partnership and localization strategy.
  • Familiarity with humanitarian assistance and long-term development work in order to communicate effectively with partners.
  • A thorough understanding of the political, economic, and social contexts of the country.
  • Experience of working within challenging environments.
