Finance Officer
Maiti Nepal, like any other Non-Government Organization (NGO) in Nepal, operates through a general agreement with Social Welfare Council, Government of Nepal that allows it to implement programs to prevent human trafficking by reaching out to the community, particularly children and women, by raising the awareness level of communities and extending life skills so that children and women are not trafficked into different forms of abuse including exploitation.

Key Responsibilities of the Role:
- Review the advance settlement and payments documents to ensure that the documents are in compliance with organization rules and regulation and make the payments.
- Records expenditures, income, and any other related transactions, in the books of accounts.
- Prepares monthly bank reconciliations and other required financial reports in timely manner.
- Support administration department for Fixed Asset Management, Inventory Management.
- Ensures that the books of accounts are up to date at all times, well kept, and readily available for reference and audit, when required.
- Collecting & reviewing reports from branch offices
- Monitor & Guide Branch Offices. Assist branch offices in daily operation of accounting software.
- Ensure compliance of local laws, donor requirements and organizational polices.
- Travel to branch offices for documents review, to train/coach branch staffs for improving financial management system.
- Tracking of advances to branch offices and process their fund request.
- Perform any other duties in respective field of competence as may be requested during the implementation of the project.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Management faculty with at least 2 years work experience / Bachelor’s Degree in Management faculty with at least 4 years of work experience in related field
- Strong computer skills, including MS Excel and accounting software.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Detail-oriented and able to work independently.
- Knowledge of applicable accounting laws and taxation.
