Preservation of Environment and Social Welfare Association of Nepal (PESWAN) Nepal is a non-profit social organization, registered under the Organization Registration Act, 2034 in District Administration Office, Kanchanpur on March 9, 2022. Organization is affiliated with Social Welfare Council and NGO networks. PESWAN's Head Office is in Mahendranagar Kanchanpur with program activities in Sudurpaschim and Karnali Province on Nepal. It is dedicated to help the people living in diverse communities throughout the country, working especially for the vulnerable, marginalized and poor population to uplift their lives and well-being. We strategies focus on set of thematic areas: Environment, Health, Education, Disaster Risk Reduction/Climate Change Adaption and Livelihood along with Cross Cutting theme: Governance, GEDSI and Advocacy.
Position Title: Field Officer – Technical Coordination
Location: Jajarkot, Nepal (Stationed in Nalgad RM with field visits)
Duration: 18 months (Full-time, possibly from September 1, 2025)
Reports to: Executive Director/Program Coordinator
Background
This integrated project in Jajarkot addresses mule welfare, climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction (DRR), health and nutrition, livelihood development, and WASH. The Field Officer will be responsible for coordinating, implementing, and monitoring field-level activities in close collaboration with local governments, communities, and stakeholders.
Purpose
Serve as the primary liaison between the implementing agency, local authorities, and communities by providing technical guidance, ensuring coordination, reporting progress, and supporting delivery of integrated interventions.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and represent the project at field level, liaising with local government, partners, and community institutions.
- Provide technical support across project themes (mule welfare, DRR, WASH, climate, health, livelihoods).
- Support training, mentoring, and capacity-building of community-based actors.
- Monitor field activities, prepare reports, case studies, and documentation.
- Facilitate communication, knowledge sharing, and visibility of project activities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Environmental Science, Public Health or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 2 years of relevant field experience, preferably in rural/remote areas.
- Knowledge in one or more areas: DRR, WASH, Livelihood, Animal Welfare, Nutrition, Climate Resilience.
- Experience working with marginalized communities and local governments.
- Strong skills in coordination, facilitation, communication, and reporting.
- Fluency in Nepali (local language an asset); good English proficiency.
- Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email/internet).
