Village Development and Save the Environment Forum (VDSEF) Nepal is a non-profit organization working in Kalikot district for more than 31 years in the areas of child rights, health and nutrition, climate change, poverty reduction, and the protection and promotion of economic, social, and cultural rights of marginalized and disadvantaged communities. The organization works to promote peace, stability, and sustainable development in Kalikot. VDSEF Nepal has extensive experience working with civil society organizations and government authorities to improve child rights, health and nutrition, climate change, livelihoods, and human rights of vulnerable groups, including women, single mothers, and youth, and children, persons with disabilities, senior citizens, Dalits, and ethnic minorities.
The SAHAYATRA-III Project is being implemented in Subhakalika Rural Municipality and Tilagufa Municipality in partnership with Save the Children. The project aims to ensure that rural vulnerable children have access to education, protection, resilience, and sexual and reproductive health, leaving no child behind. VDSEF Nepal is currently seeking applications from qualified Nepali citizens committed to delivering results for the following position:
Position: Field officer, Climate change and Green Jobs-1 (One)
- Duty station: Project Office, Subhakalika Rural Municipality, Kalikot
- Report to: Project Coordinator- Climate change and Green Jobs
- Salary and Benefits: As per the organization's norms commensurate with the project agreement
Summary:
The Field Officer- Climate Change and Green Jobs will support the implementation of the SAHAYATRA-III Project in Subhakalika Rural Municipality. The role focuses on leading and facilitating community-level activities related to climate action, climate resilience, and green livelihood initiatives. The position requires close coordination with local governments, schools, community groups, youth clubs, and public and private sector actors to promote climate-resilient practices and green job opportunities. The Field Officer will also provide onsite coaching and technical support to communities to strengthen sustainable livelihood practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead coordination with Palika-level government agencies, including environment, agriculture, education, disaster units, ward offices, schools, and community-based organizations.
- Facilitate community groups and schools to understand and carry out climate resilience and green job activities.
- Organize awareness campaigns, environmental assessments, trainings, and workshops at the community level.
- Conduct technical support visits, providing coaching and mentoring to promote climate-resilient practices.
- Support local planning and budgeting processes to advocate for climate-focused resource allocation.
- Prepare periodic reports, case studies, and success stories, and support MEAL processes for tracking progress.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, Agriculture, or Climate Change with at least 2 years of relevant work experience
OR
- Intermediate degree in Agriculture, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or Climate Change with at least 4 years of relevant work experience
