SAHAMATI

SAHAMATI is a non-governmental, non-profit making, social development organization established in 2001/11/12 (Kartik 27, 2058) by a group of professionals and development workers with long experience in community development. This organization has been registered as an NGO under the organization registration act of Nepal. Global problems like climate change, poverty, social discrimination and migration influence Nepal's development process, demanding diversified answers. Underprivileged groups are often excluded while designing development program, unfortunate for them. SAHAMATI aims to make a change by addressing the huge challenges of the 21st century with a community-centered approach, focusing on social justice and social transformation, human rights development and self-help promotion. SAHAMATI has built a large network composed of diverse social groups, national and international organizations and like-minded institutions and have been launching various kinds of community-centered programs on collaboration. WWF Nepal, in partnership with SAHAMATI, is implementing a Nature-based Solutions (NbS) initiative aimed at addressing key societal and environmental challenges in the Khageri and Gindri watersheds of the Lower Narayani River Basin. Building on this approach, SAHAMATI is expanding its efforts to the western region of Nepal, specifically in Mohana watershed of Kailali District. The project focuses on the implementation of the NbS–Triple Benefit Program (TBP), which seeks to enhance the health of critical sub-watersheds, reduce disaster and climate-related risks, and strengthen natural resource governance. In Kailali, the intervention targets two critical sub-watersheds, Kandra and Katani. As the implementing partner of WWF Nepal, SAHAMATI will lead project activities in close coordination with the Nepal Red Cross Society Kailali and relevant local government bodies. SAHAMATI invites an application from an interested and qualified candidate to fulfil the following position.

Position Summary: The Field Officer is responsible for supporting the implementation of project activities at the community level, ensuring effective engagement with local stakeholders, and promoting Nature-based Solutions (NbS). The Field Officer will work closely with community members, CSOs, and relevant stakeholders to facilitate conservation activities, advocate for good governance, and monitor field-level interventions.

Duty Station: Field Office, Kailali

Required Qualifications: Bachelor pass in Environmental Science, NRM, Forestry or a related discipline with a minimum of one years’ experience in the relevant field.
