Animal Health Training and Consultancy Service (AHTCS) was established in 2000 as a service-oriented, non-profit making non-governmental organization for improving the living standard of marginalized communities through partnership with national and international organization and agencies. It was started by Animal Health Improvement Program (AHIP) of Rural Development Centre (RDC) under the direction of United Mission to Nepal in 1981 to address the myriad of constraints faced by rural livestock raisers. It is registered in District Administration Office Kaski and affiliated with Social Welfare Council. It works for the benefit of its target communities in the areas of animal health, husbandry and equine welfare. It also addresses need-based livestock-mediated program diversification such as livelihood enhancement via agriculture practices.

Animal Health Training and Consultancy Service (AHTCS), a service oriented, non-profit making national NGO officiated in Pokhara that works in the areas of animal health and management, equine welfare, influencing, community development, veterinary research, and training to poor, marginalized and needy farmers all over the country. The AHTCS invites application from the dynamic, qualified and highly motivated Nepali firms for the development of a documentary film.
Project Name: Sustainable Equine Welfare Project (SEWP)
Documentary Title "The Situation of Equine Welfare in Nepal" in the Banke and Bhaktapur districts.
Interested firms with proven expertise in developing educational and documentary films are requested to submit their proposals as per the details below.
A. Desired Experience, Skills, and Qualifications
The consulting company/firm must meet the following minimum criteria:
General Experience: A minimum of five years of experience in video documentary development.
Specific Portfolio: Proven experience in developing at least two teaching-aid or training-aid video documentaries. Evidence is required. General promotional videos will not be considered.
Team Composition:
Team Leader: Must hold at least a Bachelor's degree in videography or a related field and provide evidence of having developed at least two video documentaries for projects/programs.
Team Members: The proposal must demonstrate proven experience of a videographer, graphic designer and voice-over artist.
Preferred Experience: Experience in documentaries related to animal welfare/equine health and equine owning community development will be a significant advantage.
B. Roles and Responsibilities of the Consultant
- The selected consultant will be responsible for:
- Recording and capturing high-quality footage from the specified field locations (Nepalgunj, Banke and Bhaktapur).
- Working closely with the teams from AHTCS for scriptwriting, information gathering, and content development.
- Ensuring proposed experts participate in field information collection.
- Remaining flexible for field visits and adjustments as suggested by the project teams.
- Providing all raw photos, video clips, and signed consent forms to the project teams.
- Delivering a complete, edited video documentary incorporating accessibility features.
- Length and format of the final documentary (e.g.; 20-30min, MP4/Full HD etc)
- Language requirements (e.g. Nepali narration with English subtitles)
- Timeline for submission of the draft and final versions.
- All the raw materials and final outputs will remain the property of AHTCS and cannot be used elsewhere without written permission.
- Evaluation criteria of the proposal will be selected in 60% in technical proposal and 40 % financial proposal which will make the bidders transparent.
C. Submission Requirements
Interested firms must submit a proposal containing the following documents:
I. Technical Proposal (Max. 5 pages)
- Summary and description of equipment (cameras, etc.) and software for editing and mixing.
- Description of the process for producing online/offline videos with subtitles and voice-over.
- A detailed work plan, including clear roles and areas of expertise.
- An explanation of how the firm's and team's experience is appropriate for creating teaching/training-aid documentaries in the specified sectors (livelihoods and animal welfare).
II. Financial Proposal
A proposed budget in Nepali Rupees (NPR) in MS Excel format.
The budget must include a detailed breakdown and narrative explanation for all line items.

III. Company and Team Details
- CVs of all proposed team members.
- Company profile detailing relevant experience.
- A copy of the firm registration certificate.
- A copy of the latest tax clearance certificate FY 2080/81.
- VAT/PAN registration certificate.
- Any other relevant documents.
Compliance and Ethics
- Mention observance to AHTCS’s safeguarding, consent and ethical standards especially since filming involves people and animals (owner of the equine).
- Reconfirm that signed consent forms for all filmed individuals to be mandatory.
