Seto Gurans National Child Development Services (SGNCDS) is a pioneer organization in the field of Early Childhood Development (ECD) in Nepal, working at the national, district, and community levels since 1979. Registered as an educational non-governmental organization, SGNCDS has been promoting children's holistic development through advocacy and the introduction of innovative programs and approaches for children, parents, communities, and other stakeholders.

With financial support from the ChildAid Network Foundation (CAN), SGNCDS is implementing Project in Ramechhap District: "ECD Harmony – Building Bright Beginning in Solukhumbu and Ramechhap" in partnership with Ramechhap Municipality, and Association for International and financial support from the Intercultural Exchange e.V, SGNCDS is implementing Project in Umakunda Rural Municipality "Strengthening Quality Early Childhood Development in Umakunda Rural Municipality through a Model ECED Center" in partnership with Umakunda Rural Municipality.

SGNCDS hereby invites applications from qualified, competent, and motivated Nepali citizens for the following position(s):

I. Position: ECD Center In-charge

Duty Station: Field based- Bamti Bhandar-Umakunda RM, Ramechhap District 

Project’s Name: Strengthening Quality Early Childhood Development in Umakunda RM through a Model ECED Center

Period: Till April 2027 [with possibility of extension]

Terms & Conditions: Fixed-Term Contract

Required No: 1

Academic Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in early childhood development (ECD), Education, Child Development, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field. 
  • Candidates with a master’s degree in a relevant field will have an added advantage. 

Professional Experience

  • At least 2 years of experience in Early Childhood Development or teaching profession. 
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience in managing ECED centers or education field.
  • Experience working with local governments, schools, and community stakeholders is preferred. 

Technical Knowledge

  • Sound knowledge of: 
    • Early Childhood Development 
    • Early Learning and Development Standards (ELDS). 
    • ECD Curriculum (2077 BS). 
    • National Minimum Standards for ECED Centers. 
    • Integrated ECD approach and pedagogy  
    • Teacher mentoring and coaching. 
    • Monitoring, documentation, and reporting. 

Skills

  • Leadership and team management. 
  • Training facilitation and mentoring skills. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Planning, budgeting, and report writing.

JD of ECD Center In-charge

The ECD Center In-charge is responsible for ensuring the effective planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of project activities in line with organizational objectives, donor requirements, and government policies. This role ensures providing technical support to Model ECD Center staff, facilitating capacity development, and maintaining compliance with organizational and donor standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Implementation & Academic Coordination  

  • Delivered one-on-one sessions with parents, and visitors. 
  • Guide the ECD Center team and students through diverse, activity-based learning methods, using locally available resources. 
  • Review, revise and adapt lesson plans to address student needs and integrate new learning approaches and techniques.
  • Ensure that ELDS report cards are completed accurately and updated regularly.
  • Conduct and support regular parents’ meetings.
  • Conduct parenting sessions.
  • Conduct regular staffs’ meeting.
  • Supervise daily operation of the ECD Center and monitor all activities
  • Prepare and manage the monthly budget for the center’s running costs.
  • Collect/Compile bill and support document of the ECD Center.
  • Gather and compile bills along with supporting documents.
  • Organize bills and documents and submit them to the NSG center office.
  • Manage the inventory of the ECD Center and update on a monthly/ bimonthly basis.
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive monthly reports to Supervisor.
  • Prepare and submit the monthly time sheet report to the supervisor in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Facilitate exposure visits from other community schools, agencies.
  • Coordinate with local government as per the need.

2. Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting

  • Monitor and supervise ECD Center activities to ensure high educational quality, timeliness, and strict adherence to the school’s strategic plans.
  • Continuously monitor and assess student progress, systematically identifying challenges and prioritizing areas for development and intervention.
  • Track milestones, key deliverables, and project progress, reporting implementation challenges, risks, or delays to management in a timely manner.
  • Support the evaluation of program activities and comprehensive impact assessments in alignment with donor and organizational standards.
  • Review weekly and monthly staff work plans, compiling progress updates to share regularly with the Project Coordinator.
  • Verify and maintain accurate records of staff leave, ensuring compliance with organizational policies.

3. Compliance & Financial Support

  • Ensure all activities comply with organizational policies, donor guidelines, and safeguarding standards.
  • Verify bills, invoices, and supporting documents for organizational and project expenses in coordination with the finance team.
  • Ensure accountability, transparency, and quality in all program-related documentation and reporting.

4. Safety & Security  

  • Ensure financial safety & security during project implementation in collaboration with the central office. 
  • Safeguard organizational assets and inventories.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all aspects of the organizational Safeguarding and Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, abuse, and Harassment policies and associated standards and procedures in collaboration with the central office.
  • Analyze/identify potential risks and handle any issues that arise. 
  • Any other task assigned by the organization relevant to your experience and requirements for the projects.

II. Position: Mentor

Workstation: Field based – Ramechhap District [Ramechhap Municipality] 

Project’s Name: "ECD Harmony – Building Bright Beginning in Solukhumbu and Ramechhap"

Required No: 2

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Proficiency Certificate Level (10+2) in Education or equivalent qualification.
  • At least one year of experience in teaching or the field of Early Childhood Development (ECD).
  • Knowledge and experience in community mobilization.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with local governments, School Management Committees (SMC), Parent-Teacher Associations (PTA), head teachers, teachers, parents, and caregivers.
  • Ability to provide technical support to Early Childhood Development (ECD) facilitators.
  • Experience in data collection and documentation.
  • Ability to prepare reports in Nepali.
  • Basic computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Preference will be given to local residents.

JD of Mentor

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide regular technical support and mentoring to Early Childhood Development (ECD) centers and school.
  • Conduct monitoring and support visits to at least 10 ECD centers/schools, with follow-up visits at least three times per month or as needed.
  • Support ECD to grade 3 teachers in conducting classroom activities according to the curriculum, guideline and daily schedule.
  • Assist in preparing and using educational and learning materials as required.
  • Ensure that the learning environment inside and outside ECD centers is organized according to the National Minimum Standards, including the six learning corners and play materials.
  • Coordination with local level Government and Non-Government stakeholders for
  • Effective implementation of project activities.
  • Support the cleanliness and maintenance of ECD centers and schools during visit.
  • Participate in bi-monthly meeting and submit timely progress reports.
  • Participate in School Management Committee (SMC) and Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) meetings and share information on project progress and activities.
  • Monitor and facilitate parenting education classes conducted in the community
  • Prepare and submit reports of implemented activities to the District Project Officer and document success stories.
  • Prepare monthly work plans and timesheets and submit them to the District Project Officer.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the organization in accordance with organizational policies and guidelines.
  • Comply with the Child Protection Policy 2075 and the Child and Youth Safeguarding Policy, and carry out responsibilities accordingly
