Introduction:
BGN Veteran Services Mission. BGN Veteran Services’ mission is to deliver post-retirement administrative services (administer pension payment; and update, maintain & safeguards of records) and provide welfare support on UK settlement related matters to Gurkha veterans and their eligible dependants in order to fulfil BGN tasks.
The job holder supports the Records Office mission below by carrying out the role of a case worker. "Records Office is to accurately, securely, legally and effectively process and maintain over 38000 records (physical and electronic) of Ex-Gurkha community on Gurkha Pension Scheme in order to provide them with post-retirement administrative and welfare services.”

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
Job description/Responsibilities:
Process requests from ex-servicemen community from the East of Nepal on Kindred Roll changes (registration of birth, marriage, divorce/elopement and change of name & date of birth of dependants) and facilitate Family Details.
Maintenance and security of Personal Records – both electronic and Personal Files in line with the Data Protection Act 2018.
Analyse available evidence (documents issued by Courts, Area Welfare Centres (AWCs), Education/Health Institutions and local authorities) to establish their authenticity.
Evaluate supporting documents and decide the next course of action.
Maintain appropriate logs of all applications as well as keeping statistics of all cases.
Respond to queries from ex-servicemen/widows as well from internal and external organisations i.e. Gurkha Settlement Office (GSO), Pension Payment Office (PPO), Area Welfare Centre (AWCs)/ Gurkha Welfare Advice Centre (GWACs), Regimental Association Nepal (RAN), United Kingdom Visa Immigration UKVI, Defence Business Service (DBS) (pension and documents), Local Government authorities and Courts.
Provide regular and on-going consultation to the ex-service community and partner organisations.
Produce synopsis of complicated caseworks when required.
Support line management in their tasks, including deputising for them when required.
Any other tasks commensurate with the grade.

Work Experience:
Minimum 3 years of work experience in relevant field as described in job description.
Very good knowledge of Nepali identity documentation and knowledge of Gurkha Settlement is preferable for this role to deliver the job responsibility effectively and efficiently.
Qualification:
Academic – Higher Secondary (+2 or A level)
Technical – Proficient in MS Office especially on Word, Excel and Power Point
English – Good Written and Spoken
Nepali – Good Written and Spoken
You will be assessed on your English language skills, MS Office expertise and other job-related knowledge through a practical assessment to qualify for interviews during the sifting and selection process.

Salary 95,534.00 NPR per month (Permanent).
Gratuity after completing 3 years’ service.
