Position: Biomedical Engineer – Sales & Service

Department: Medical Technology / Ophthalmic Equipment

Location: Kathmandu, Nepal

Employment Type: Full-Time

Experience: 1–3 years

About the Role: We are looking for a motivated and technically strong Biomedical Engineer to join our team for the sales, installation, commissioning, training, preventive maintenance and after-sales service of medical and ophthalmic equipment.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with hospitals, eye-care centers, ophthalmologists, biomedical departments and technical teams, while also contributing to product sales and business development.

Key Responsibilities

Technical & Service

  • Install, commission and troubleshoot medical/ophthalmic equipment.
  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Diagnose equipment faults and coordinate repairs with manufacturers when required.
  • Maintain accurate service reports, installation records and equipment history.
  • Conduct regular customer visits and ensure high equipment uptime.
  • Provide technical training to hospital staff, technicians and users.
  • Handle warranty and post-warranty service requirements.
  • Maintain adequate knowledge of product manuals, software and technical specifications. Sales & Business Development
  • Develop new customers among hospitals, eye hospitals, clinics and healthcare institutions.
  • Support product demonstrations and technical presentations. - Identify new sales opportunities and generate leads.
  • Prepare technical and commercial quotations in coordination with the sales team.
  • Participate in tenders, product demonstrations, exhibitions and medical conferences.
  • Build strong relationships with ophthalmologists, hospital management and biomedical departments.
  • Achieve assigned monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets. Customer Relationship Management
  • Act as the primary technical contact for assigned customers.
  • Ensure timely response to customer complaints and service requests.
  • Maintain regular follow-up with existing customers for upgrades, accessories and additional equipment.
  • Collect customer feedback and communicate market requirements to management.

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
  • AI skills may be considered.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
  • Good understanding of electrical/electronic and medical equipment systems.
  • Good computer skills, including MS Office.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within Nepal.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience in any of the following will have an advantage:

  • Ophthalmic equipment
  • Hospital biomedical equipment
  • Medical device sales and after-sales service
