Position: Biomedical Engineer – Sales & Service

Location: Kathmandu, Nepal

About the Role: We are looking for a motivated and technically strong Biomedical Engineer to join our team for the sales, installation, commissioning, training, preventive maintenance and after-sales service of medical and ophthalmic equipment.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with hospitals, eye-care centers, ophthalmologists, biomedical departments and technical teams, while also contributing to product sales and business development.
Key Responsibilities
Technical & Service
- Install, commission and troubleshoot medical/ophthalmic equipment.
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Diagnose equipment faults and coordinate repairs with manufacturers when required.
- Maintain accurate service reports, installation records and equipment history.
- Conduct regular customer visits and ensure high equipment uptime.
- Provide technical training to hospital staff, technicians and users.
- Handle warranty and post-warranty service requirements.
- Maintain adequate knowledge of product manuals, software and technical specifications. Sales & Business Development
- Develop new customers among hospitals, eye hospitals, clinics and healthcare institutions.
- Support product demonstrations and technical presentations. - Identify new sales opportunities and generate leads.
- Prepare technical and commercial quotations in coordination with the sales team.
- Participate in tenders, product demonstrations, exhibitions and medical conferences.
- Build strong relationships with ophthalmologists, hospital management and biomedical departments.
- Achieve assigned monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets. Customer Relationship Management
- Act as the primary technical contact for assigned customers.
- Ensure timely response to customer complaints and service requests.
- Maintain regular follow-up with existing customers for upgrades, accessories and additional equipment.
- Collect customer feedback and communicate market requirements to management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
- AI skills may be considered.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
- Good understanding of electrical/electronic and medical equipment systems.
- Good computer skills, including MS Office.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively within Nepal.
Preferred Experience
Candidates with experience in any of the following will have an advantage:
- Ophthalmic equipment
- Hospital biomedical equipment
- Medical device sales and after-sales service
