The Esther Benjamin Memorial Foundation (EBMF) is a non-governmental social organisation established in 2007 with a vision to enable every child to exercise their rights for their well-being. Since its establishment, the organisation has been rescuing and reintegrating children with their families from various challenging circumstances. EBMF is seeking to recruit competent, committed, self-motivated and enthusiastic Nepali candidate for the following two positions:
1) Position: Programme Officer
Location: Makwanpur District
No. Of Position: 1
Contract period: 10 months - possibility of extension.
Reports to: District Programme Manager, Hetauda Office
Key Responsibilities
- Implement district-level activities related to anti-human trafficking, youth transit support, and anti-child labour programs.
- Coordinate with local governments, police, labour offices, schools, and community structures.
- Facilitate identification, referral, and follow-up of children and youth at risk.
- Support youth transit monitoring and protection mechanisms in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure safe referral and linkage to appropriate services.
- Lead district-level advocacy and awareness campaigns on child labour and human trafficking.
- Support integration of child protection and trafficking issues into local government plans and budgets.
- Represent EBMF in district-level coordination forums, networks, and task forces.
- Strengthen partnerships with CSOs, youth groups, and community-based organizations.
- Maintain accurate records, case documentation, and activity reports.
- Contribute to donor and internal reporting with timely and quality data.
- Support monitoring visits and learning documentation.
- Ensure compliance with EBMF’s Child Safeguarding, PSEA, and Code of Conduct policies.
- Promote child- and survivor-centered, gender-sensitive, and rights-based approaches.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, Development Studies, Law, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in child protection, anti-human trafficking, youth development, or labour-related programmes.
- Strong understanding of local governance systems and child protection mechanisms.
- Experience working with local governments and district-level stakeholders.
- Good communication, facilitation, and reporting skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the district.
2) Position: Rescue and Reintegration Officer
Location: Lalitpur District
No. Of Position: 1
Contract period: 10 months - possibility of extension.
Reports to: Programme Manager, Lalitpur Office
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and support rescue operations in collaboration with government authorities and relevant stakeholders.
- Conduct intake, assessment, and case planning for rescued children and youth.
- Maintain confidential and accurate case files in line with EBMF policies and donor requirements.
- Facilitate family tracing, family assessment, and reintegration planning.
- Coordinate education, vocational training, psychosocial support, and livelihood support for survivors.
- Conduct regular follow-up visits to monitor reintegration outcomes and well-being
- Liaise with Police, National Child Rights Council, Child Rights Committees, Child Welfare Officers, local governments, shelters, and service providers.
- Represent EBMF in case conferences, coordination meetings, and legal or administrative processes when required.
- Prepare timely case reports, success stories, and progress updates.
- Support donor reporting by providing accurate rescue and reintegration data.
- Ensure documentation complies with child safeguarding and data protection standards.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Law, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in child protection, anti-human trafficking, or social work.
- Strong understanding of national child protection and anti-trafficking laws and mechanisms.
- Experience in case management and coordination with government stakeholders.
- Good documentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel to field locations as required.
Safeguarding and Ethical Practice
- Uphold EBMF’s Child Safeguarding, PSEA, and Code of Conduct policies.
- Ensure survivor-centered, rights-based, and gender-sensitive approaches in all interventions.
Working Hours
The standard working hours are 40 hours per week, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. However, because this is a child-based organization, the post holder may be engaged during out-of-working hours or weekends as per the situation created.
