Karnali Network for Integrated Development (KNFID) Nepal, a non-profit, non-governmental national- level organization, has been dedicated to addressing injustice and inequality experienced by poor and marginalized groups. Our work encompasses the development of training programs, networking initiatives, research endeavors, and policy influence. KNFID Nepal collaborates with local partner organizations in the areas of health and physical rehabilitation, inclusive education, and resilience, including emergency response, to improve the living conditions and involvement of the most vulnerable populations in Nepal. KNFID Nepal remains committed to advocating for systemic changes that address the root causes of injustice and inequality, thereby striving to create a more equitable society for all individuals in Nepal.

KNFID Nepal is implementing the project Named "School and Community- Based Project to Improve Learning Environments and Strengthen Children's Learning Competencies in Dhanusha and Kathmandu" in Tarakeshwor Municipality, Kathmandu district, Nepal in partnership and funding support from WORLD SHARE. The project aims to establish a safe and inclusive community-based Children’s Center in Tarakeshwor Municipality, Ward No. 5, Kathmandu. The Children’s Center will provide after-school learning and homework support, remedial and foundational learning, life-skills education, sports, arts and creative learning and other child-development opportunities. 

Thus, KNFID Nepal invites applications from qualified and interested candidates for the above-mentioned project for the following position:

1. Program Coordinator - 1 Position

Terms & Conditions: Fixed term contract

Location: Children’s Center, Tarakeshwor Municipality, Ward No. 5, Kathmandu.

We are seeking an experienced professional to coordinate the Children’s Center and manage its after-school programs, homework support, and community engagement activities. The successful candidate must have demonstrated experience in program operations, staff supervision, and coordination with local government and community stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the day-to-day operation of the Children’s Center and ensure the effective delivery of its educational and after-school programs.
  • Develop detailed project plans, activity schedules, and budgets in coordination with KNFID Nepal, WORLD SHARE, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Supervise and support four part-time teachers responsible for football and physical education, taekwondo, arts and creative activities, and reading and learning support.
  • Coordinate teachers’ schedules, review session plans, monitor teaching quality, and provide regular feedback to improve program delivery.
  • Ensure that homework support and other learning activities are well coordinated and responsive to children’s needs.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with Tarakeshwor Municipality, ward offices, schools, parents, caregivers, and community representatives.
  • Lead local consultations and coordination meetings to secure cooperation, address operational issues, and encourage children’s regular participation.
  • Act as a liaison between KNFID Nepal, WORLD SHARE, and other partners to ensure clear communication, timely reporting, and coordinated implementation.
  • Organize staff orientation, training, and capacity-building activities based on identified needs.
  • Establish and implement monitoring and evaluation procedures to track attendance, participation, learning progress, and project results.
  • Coordinate with the finance and administration team to monitor expenditure and ensure activities remain within approved budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with child safeguarding, child protection, inclusion, and organizational policies, and respond promptly to concerns through established reporting procedures.
  • Identify operational risks and implementation challenges and take appropriate action to address them.
  • Maintain accurate project records, including activity reports, agreements, meeting minutes, correspondence, and children’s progress records.
  • Document lessons learned, success stories, and good practices to support program improvement and organizational learning.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, social sciences, Development studies, or related field. A Master’s degree will be an advantage.
  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience, including a minimum of three years in coordinating or managing education, child development, after-school, or community-based programs.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing day-to-day program operations and supervising teachers, facilitators, or other program staff.
  • Proven ability to coordinate and negotiate with local government, schools, parents, and community stakeholders.
  • Strong planning, organizational, problem-solving, and team leadership skills.
  • Experience in monitoring program quality, tracking results, managing budgets, and preparing reports.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken Nepali and English.
  • Strong commitment to child safeguarding, inclusive education, equity, and children’s rights.
  • Familiarity with donor-funded projects and grant management processes is desirable.
  • Previous experience managing a children’s center or a similar educational facility will be an advantage.
  • Korean language proficiency will be an advantage

2. Admin and Finance Officer- 1 Position

Terms & Conditions: Fixed term contract 

Location: Children’s Center, Tarakeshwor Municipality, Ward No. 5, Kathmandu.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and maintain financial systems, procedures, and controls in compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements.
  • Prepare annual budgets, cash flow forecasts, and financial reports for the project.
  • Monitor expenditures, track budget utilization, and ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
  • Coordinate with project staff and partners to facilitate budget planning and expenditure monitoring.
  • Ensure compliance with grant agreements, reporting requirements, and donor regulations.
  • Prepare financial reports and documentation for donor submissions, audits, and reviews.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of project budgets, expenses, and variances to ensure financial sustainability and accountability.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, tax requirements, and financial reporting standards.
  • Identify potential financial risks and internal control weaknesses and recommend appropriate risk mitigation measures.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory authorities to facilitate audits and reviews as required and promote a culture of financial accountability, transparency, and integrity.
  • Foster learning and knowledge sharing on best practices in financial management and administration.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance (BBA/BBS), accounting, business administration, or related field; professional certification is desirable.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in financial management, grants administration, or related roles, preferably within the non-profit sector.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret financial data and prepare accurate reports.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct.
  • Fluency in Nepali and English languages, both written and spoken.

Duty Station: Children’s Center, Tarakeshwor Municipality, Ward No. 5, Kathmandu.

The Children’s Center is seeking four part-time teachers to provide engaging after-school programs, homework support, and learning activities that promote children’s physical, creative, social, and academic development.

Key Responsibilities

1. Football and Physical Education Teacher

  • Plan and conduct age-appropriate football lessons, physical education sessions, and recreational activities.
  • Teach basic football skills and promote physical fitness, teamwork, cooperation, and fair play.
  • Organize inclusive indoor and outdoor games and sports events.
  • Adapt activities to children’s different abilities and ensure their safety during all sessions.

2. Taekwondo Instructor

  • Plan and conduct age-appropriate taekwondo lessons.
  • Teach basic techniques and exercises to develop fitness, balance, flexibility, and coordination.
  • Promote respect, self-discipline, confidence, and self-control.
  • Ensure safe practice and adapt instruction to children’s abilities and experience.

3. Arts and Creative Activity Teacher

  • Plan and facilitate drawing, painting, crafts, and other creative activities.
  • Encourage children’s imagination, problem-solving, confidence, and self-expression.
  • Use accessible materials and adapt activities to different ages and abilities.
  • Organize opportunities for children to display and share their work.
  • Ensure the safe use of materials and equipment.

4. Reading and Learning Support Teacher

  • Plan and facilitate reading activities, storytelling, shared reading, and book discussions.
  • Support children in developing reading comprehension, vocabulary, and writing skills.
  • Provide homework guidance and basic learning support based on individual needs and abilities.
  • Encourage independent learning and positive study habits.
  • Maintain learning records and share progress and concerns with the Program Coordinator and parents or caregivers.
  • Create a safe, positive, inclusive and child-friendly learning environment.
  • Provide individual or small-group support according to children’s learning levels and needs.

Common Responsibilities for All Teachers

  • Create a safe, inclusive, welcoming, and child-friendly learning environment.
  • Prepare session plans and maintain attendance and brief activity records.
  • Provide homework support, as scheduled and within their areas of competence.
  • Coordinate with the Program Coordinator and other teachers on activities and children’s support needs.
  • Follow child safeguarding, child protection, and organizational policies.
  • Report any child safety or protection concerns promptly through the organization’s reporting procedures.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Relevant academic qualifications, professional training, or demonstrated skills in the respective field.
  • Previous experience teaching or working with children; experience in after-school or community programs will be an advantage.
  • For the Taekwondo Instructor: a recognized taekwondo qualification and experience providing safe instruction to children.
  • For the Reading and Learning Support Teacher: an education-related qualification or relevant experience in literacy instruction, homework support, or primary-level teaching.
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and group management skills.
  • Ability to adapt activities to children of different ages, abilities, and learning needs.
  • Creativity, patience, reliability, and a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Commitment to child safeguarding and inclusive participation.

4. Security Guard - 1 Position

Terms & Conditions: Fixed term contract 

Location: Children’s Center, Tarakeshwor Municipality, Ward No. 5, Kathmandu.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety and security of the organization's office, premises, staff, visitors, and property.
  • Monitor and control the entry and exit of staff, visitors, and other individuals.
  • Maintain a daily logbook of visitors, vehicle movements, and security-related incidents.
  • Conduct regular security checks and patrols of the office premises.
  • Ensure that office doors, gates, windows, and other security facilities are properly secured.
  • Monitor and report any suspicious activities, potential security risks, or emergencies to the authority concerned.
  • Support fire safety, emergency response, and evacuation procedures when required.
  • Ensure the proper use and maintenance of security equipment and facilities.
  • Maintain cleanliness and order around the office entrance and surrounding premises.
  • Perform other security-related duties assigned by the organization.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum SEE/SLC or equivalent academic qualification.
  • Previous experience as a security guard will be an advantage.

  • Physically fit, disciplined, punctual, honest, and responsible.
  • Ability to respond effectively to emergencies and work collaboratively with staff. 
  • Ability to communicate in Nepali; basic English communication skills will be an advantage.
