CONTEXT AND PROJECT SUMMARY

Jalpa Integrated Development Society (JIDS) is established in 1994 A.D with visioning to build healthy, wealthy, self-dependent and identical society and setting a goal; improving the life standard of community, and taking different objectives to address the issues, problems and establishing opportunity for ultra-poor community. These all have helped the organization to uplift educational level, child protection and participation, livelihood, disaster risk reduction, creating child friendly environment, good governance and addressing basic human rights by mobilizing maximum local resources and also connecting different internal and external resources to address the issues and problems in community of Udayapur. Moreover, in last 30 years, JIDS have established a good reputation and trusts in and outside the district in social development sector.

JIDS Nepal is implementation the the Integrated Program Framework (IPF) under the PROTECT project model, IMPACT+ and Sponsorship Operation Plan (SOP) with partnership World Vision international Nepal. Also, JIDS has years of experience on executing child protection campaign in Udayapur district to improve the well-being of vulnerable children through programs focused on case management, referral mechanisms, protection, and social support services. The organization coordinates with local stakeholders to ensure access to essential services and promotes community awareness and participation.

World Vision International officially started to work in Nepal in 2001, following an agreement with the Government of Nepal. Since then, World Vision International Nepal (herein after WVIN) has worked in long-term development, relief, and rehabilitation programmes in Nepal. WVI Nepal aims to improve the well-being of 1 million vulnerable children by addressing three critical child wellbeing issues (FY26-FY30). To achieve this, WVIN implements has been implementing Integrated Programming Framework programme which include protection, education, health and nutrition and resilence sector and aim to ensure all children experience an environment of nurturing care for their growth and development, Families are empowered and resilient for the well-being of children, Communities create a safe, learning, and healthy environment for all children and Government systems are functional and are inclusive and accessible at all levels to address child well-being issues in Nepal.

Child Protection Core (CP-Core) is designed as a foundational approach to building a protective environment in any community which is being implemented with partnership with JIDS with in four palika( Triyuga Municipality, Rautamai Rural Municipality, Limchungbung Rural Municipality-, Katari Munucipality, Tapli Rural Municipality, Udaypurgadhi Rural Municipality,) of Udayapur . Through CP-Core project model for child protection, World Vision International Nepal and Jalpa Integrated Development Society is facilitating the strengthening of child protection system (formal & informal) to functionalize the services in regards to child protection. Some of the major components that we implement are Local level Child Protection Context analysis, and support for Stratedigic plan developlent and implementation, strengthening Reporting and Referral Mechanism (R&R), efficient CP services, empowering child clubs, ensure safeguarding in all interventions, and ensuring that safeguarding is implemented in all interventions; and all registered children (RCs), all children who are participating in online activities, and caregivers are equipped for online safety. Resources to equip children and their caregivers on online safety are forthcoming. The CP programme contribute in creating the safer, protective environment at home, school and community for all children experience an environment of nurturing care for their growth and development. The organization is also advocating child well-being and other important issues both locally and nationally.

AIM AND OBJECTIVES OF CONSULTANCY SERVICE:

2.1 Overall objective

WVIN is implementing the Technical Programme in different districts using various project models such as PROTECT, Child Protection Core (CP-Core), Channel of Hope (COH), and Empower Worldviews. The CP-Core provides the foundational building blocks for a fuller version of PROTECT that focuses on high-prevalence violence against children (VAC) issues such as child marriage, child labour, and violence in the home .

The model ensures that all children experience an environment of nurturing care for their growth and development, families are empowered and resilient for the well-being of children, communities create a safe, learning, and healthy environment for all children, and government systems are functional, inclusive, and accessible at all levels to address child well-being issues. This is one of the core components of the CP-Core project model. Through this training, the project aims to establish a proper case management system in the community under the Child Rights Committee. The project will support the local government as envisioned in the National Children’s Act 2075 and its Regulation 2078.
