Terms of Reference (TOR) for Team Building Activity

1.     Background 

Heifer International Nepal is dedicated to ending hunger and poverty while caring for the earth. Since its establishment in 1998, Heifer has transformed the lives of over 400,000 families through agriculture and livestock programs. By fostering Self-Help Groups and Social Entrepreneur Women’s Cooperatives, Heifer helps build resilient communities and promote sustainable livelihoods.

Heifer believes in the power of locally led development to drive sustainable change. By empowering communities to take ownership of their progress, Heifer ensures that solutions are grounded in local knowledge, culture, and context. This approach strengthens the capacity of local leaders and organizations to identify challenges, leverage resources, and implement long-term strategies tailored to the unique needs of their communities. 

Team building is a crucial element of organizational growth, fostering collaboration, effective communication, and mutual trust among staff members. This activity is designed to foster team spirit, boost productivity, and cultivate a positive work environment. Heifer seeks to source the consultant to conduct the team building activity.

2.     Objectives

The objectives of the team building activity are to:

  • Strengthen collaboration and teamwork among staff.
  • Improve communication, trust, and interpersonal relationships.
  • Enhance problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Boost staff morale, motivation, and overall well-being.
  • Align team efforts with the organization’s mission and vision.

3.     Scope of Work

The facilitator/organizing team will be responsible for:

  • Designing and implementing interactive team-building activities.
  • Ensuring inclusivity and participation of all team members.
  • Providing materials, tools, or resources required for activities.
  • Documenting key lessons, reflections, and feedback from participants.
  • Preparing a brief report with recommendations for future team engagement.

4.     Expected Outputs

  • A one-day team-building workshop was conducted.
  • Increase team cohesion and improved staff relations.
  • A summary report documenting activities, lessons learned, and recommendations.

5.     Duration

The team-building activity will take place on 10 December, lasting for 1 day.

6.     Participants

All staff members of Heifer International Nepal.

7.     Reporting & Follow-up

The facilitator will submit a final report to management within 5 days after the activity. Lessons learned and recommendations will be integrated into future organizational activities.

8.     Application Process

Interested individuals/organizations are invited to submit applications to Procurement-NP@heifer.org  with the title: “Proposal for Team Building Activity” by no later than 9th  November 2025, 5 : 00 PM along with following documents.

  • Cover Letter
  • Technical proposal (understanding of ToR, methodology, proposed session and team composition).
  • Financial proposal with breakdown (facilitation fees, materials and supplies, logistics cost)
  • Proposed CVs of key personnel (maximum 3 pages each)
  • Relevant work samples (two recent documents/reports) or references.
  • Organization registration certificate
  • VAT Certificate
  • Tax Clearance Certificate (FY 081-82) or extension slip

Heifer reserves the right to accept or reject any proposal and to annul the selection process and reject all Proposals at any time prior to contract award, without thereby incurring any liability to affected individuals.
