A Social Worker at Asha Nepal works with children and families affected by gender-based violence who are facing social exclusion or family crisis. The role focuses on supporting them to achieve safety, stability, and well-being. With the aim of ensuring that families can remain safe and stable within their communities, the Social Worker helps children access regular academic and vocational education. Working in close coordination with families, the Social Worker provides timely and appropriate support to prevent family separation and strengthen family resilience.
Job Description / Responsibilities
- To listen attentively and understand each situation, identify and prioritize needs plan appropriate actions, recommend the best course of action to the case management team, make informed decisions, and ensure timely delivery of services to service users.
- To visit families in their residence or contact them by phone at least once a month to have their updates and provide needed support to them.
- To visit children and their schools to know about their education and educational progress.
- Maintain case notes, assessments, follow-up forms, and reports as per organizational standards.
- To help families find job and ensure that they have regular source of income to look after their families.
- To conduct informal interviews with children and families to assess and review their situation and work in the process of case the close in needed.
- Prepare monthly plans, monthly reports, and half-yearly program reports
- Co-ordinate closely with Case Manager and relevant community stakeholders
- Liaise with external agencies and make referrals when required
- Participate in case management meetings and regular staff meetings.
- To participate in meetings and workshops with like-minded organizations and alliance networks as required.
- Ensure all work is conducted in line with the Best Interest of the Child, Child Protection Policy, and PAM(Personnel and Administration Manual) of Asha Nepal
Job Specification
Education: Bachelor’s degree running or completed in Social Work or Sociology
Experience: Freshers are strongly encouraged to apply

- Ability to work independently while maintaining professional boundaries
