Key Responsibilities
1. Program Coordination (Field-Oriented):
Oversee day-to-day operations of the mental health program with a strong field presence, ensuring alignment with the strategic goals and objectives of Manavsewa Ashram (MSA) and the Nepal Institute of Mental Health (NIOMH). Regularly monitor program implementation through on-site visits to MSA branches.2. Case Management and Clinical Services (On-site & Field-Based):
Provide direct psychological services primarily through field visits to MSA branches, including comprehensive mental health assessments, development of individualized treatment plans, and systematic monitoring of residents’ clinical progress. Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions and ensure continuity of care across locations.3. Assessment and Screening (Field-Focused):
Conduct and support mental health screening, psychological assessments, and risk assessments (including suicide risk) during field visits. Identify residents requiring specialized care and ensure timely referrals from field locations.4. Treatment Planning and Monitoring:
Develop, implement, review, and update psychological treatment plans in coordination with the multidisciplinary team, integrating findings from regular field follow-ups to ensure evidence-based and person-centered care.5. Crisis Intervention (Field Response):
Provide immediate psychological first aid and crisis intervention during mental health emergencies encountered in the field, including acute psychiatric episodes and high-risk situations, in coordination with medical and psychiatric teams.6. Training and Capacity Building (On-site & Field-Based):
Design and deliver mental health trainings, workshops, and refresher sessions primarily at MSA branches during field visits to strengthen the psychosocial support skills of caretakers, staff, and volunteers.7. Supervision and Mentorship:
Provide technical supervision, guidance, and mentoring to resident caretakers and health workers through regular on-site coaching, case discussions, and supportive supervision during field engagement.8. Psychoeducation (Field Implementation):
Conduct structured psychoeducation sessions for residents, caretakers, and staff during field visits, focusing on mental health conditions, coping strategies, medication adherence, relapse prevention, and stigma reduction.9. Advocacy and Outreach (Field-Level):
Advocate for the mental health needs and rights of residents at branch and community levels and collaborate with local stakeholders, partners, and service providers encountered during field work to expand services and resources.10. Referral and Networking:
Establish and maintain effective referral pathways with psychiatrists, hospitals, psychologists, and community-based mental health services, ensuring smooth coordination and follow-up from field sites.11. Record Keeping and Documentation:
Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date records of field-based and center-based activities, including assessments, diagnoses, treatment interventions, progress notes, follow-ups, and comprehensive case summaries.12.Record Keeping and Documentation:

Actively participate in planning, implementation, monitoring, and operational activities of the joint mental health program between MSA and NIOMH, with a primary focus on field execution.14. Inter-Branch Coordination (Extensive Field Travel):
Conduct case management, coordination, follow-ups, and record-keeping through regular in-person visits to MSA branches within and outside Kathmandu Valley, accounting for approximately 60% of overall working time.15. Administrative and Operational Support:
Support mental health-related logistics and supplies for field activities, ensure procurement follows MSA policies, manage inventory, and coordinate with Administration and Operations teams to facilitate smooth field operations.
16. Research and Learning (Field-Based Evidence):
Support basic research, case studies, and documentation of field-based best practices and lessons learned to strengthen evidence-based mental health services.17. Ethical Practice and Professional Standards:
Ensure all psychological services delivered in field and center settings adhere to national and international ethical guidelines, including confidentiality, informed consent, professional boundaries, and safeguarding standards.Skills & Qualifications
