Position: Project Coordinator (PC)

Number of Position: 1

Duty Station: Based in Janakpurdham, Dhanusha with frequent travel to Project municipalities; Sahidnagar Municipality and Kamala Municipality

Contract type: Fixed-term contract with three months of probation period and subject to extension based on availability of funds.

About the Project

With support from Plan International Nepal, Support Nepal implements Girls Standing Strong (GSS) Project, aiming at having the girls and young women in all of their diversity reach their full potential as equal and active citizens. The purpose of the project is to facilitate in harnessing the aspirations of children, adolescent and young women (CAY), especially girls and young women whereby they live and lead their life with dignity. The project will directly serve to end child-marriage and force marriage. The project will be implemented in Dhanusha district of Madhesh Province.

Duration: Starting from 1st August 2026, the initial contract will be for six months with likelihood of extension contingent on satisfactory performance and resource availability.

General Responsibilities:

The main responsible of Project Coordinator (PC) is to manage the project cycle of Girls Standing Strong Project in Dhanusha i.e. project planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting including coordination with concerned offices and stakeholders of the project. PC should work in close coordination with Chairperson of Support Nepal and Program Specialist of Plan International Nepal, Eastern Regional Office, Janakpurdham to mobilize project resources (both human resource and budget) to yield the results as design in logical framework of the project and theory of change. Beside project cycle management, PC should lead and mobilize the project team for influence to individual to government to lasting impact of interventions and sustainability. With support of Program Specialist of Plan International Nepal, PC has to provide technical expertise or harness technical expertise from Plan International Nepal or from external in different thematic area of the project.

Education and experience:

Master’s degree in Public Health, Social science, Development Studies, Education, International Development, Rural Development, or similar subjects with 3 years’ experience or  Bachelor's degree with 5 years’ working experience in areas of early childhood development, youth empowerment, sexual reproductive health right, protection and knowledge on project cycle management and different aspect of integrated community development.

Competences:

  • Clear understanding of the project cycle management of complex nature especially protection, ECD, SRHR and youth empowerment.
  • Sound understanding of government systems and policies in related thematic areas, and hands-on experience in project monitoring in particular the rights based approach (RBA) and result-based project cycle management (RB-PCM) will be added advantages.
  • Sound management knowledge and skills of project staff mobilization, project planning implementation and monitoring.
  • Language: Ability to write clearly and concisely in English and Nepali knowledge on local language will be assets
  • Communication: Sound communication skills, managing work relationships (internal/external), coordination and networking.
  • Proven IT skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and skill of computer applications/
  • Two wheelers driving license required.
