Career Opportunity

Disable Women Society Rupandehi (DWS) invites applications from qualified, committed and experienced Nepalese candidates for the following positions under the "Inclusive Climate Resilience and Advocacy for Women with Disabilities in Rupandehi" project, funded by CBM Ireland.

Project Duration: 10 Months (Possibility of extension subject to funding and performance)

Duty Station: Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City, Rupandehi District

1. Position: Project Coordinator (50% LTE)

Number of Position: One (1)

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead overall planning, implementation, coordination and monitoring of project activities. 
  • Ensure timely implementation according to approved work plan and budget. 
  • Coordinate with municipalities, government agencies, OPDs and community stakeholders. 
  • Facilitate workshops, trainings, advocacy meetings and consultation events. 
  • Supervise project staff and provide technical guidance. 
  • Prepare narrative reports, progress reports and donor reports. 
  • Maintain coordination with CBM Ireland and project partners.
  • Ensure disability inclusion, gender equality and safeguarding principles throughout project implementation. 
  • Monitor project indicators and document lessons learned and success stories. 
  • Support financial planning and budget monitoring together with Admin Finance Officer. 
  • Perform any other project-related responsibilities assigned by the organization.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Social Work, Sociology, Rural Development, Development Studies, Public Health, Disaster Management or related discipline.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in NGO/INGO project management. 
  • Experience in disability-inclusive development projects is highly preferred. 
  • Experience in climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction, advocacy or community mobilization will be an added advantage. 
  • Experience working with local governments and OPDs.

Required Skills

  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills. 
  • Strong report writing skills in English and Nepali. 
  • Good coordination and networking skills. 
  • Computer proficiency (MS Office). 
  • Ability to work independently.

2. Position: Admin, Finance and Logistics Officer (30% LTE)

Number of Position: One (1)

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain project financial records and bookkeeping. 
  • Prepare vouchers, cash books and financial documentation. 
  • Support procurement following organizational procedures. 
  • Maintain inventory and logistics records. 
  • Process payments and settlements. 
  • Assist in budget tracking and expenditure monitoring. 
  • Prepare financial reports. 
  • Support workshop, training and event logistics. 
  • Maintain administrative documentation and filing system. 
  • Coordinate transportation, accommodation and office logistics. 
  • Ensure compliance with donor and organizational financial policies. 
  • Perform any additional duties assigned by the Project Coordinator. 

Qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree in Management, Finance, Business Administration, Accounting or equivalent.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in finance and administration. 
  • Experience in NGO/INGO projects preferred. 
  • Knowledge of donor compliance is an advantage. 
  • Experience in procurement and logistics management.

Required Skills

  • Strong accounting and bookkeeping skills. 
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software. 
  • Good organizational skills. 
  • Excellent documentation and filing skills. 
  • Ability to work under deadlines.

Preference will be given to:

  • Candidates with experience working in Disability Inclusive Development (DID) projects.
  • Candidates with experience working with Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs).
  • Candidates from Rupandehi District.
  • Candidates from nearby districts such as Kapilvastu, Nawalparasi (West), Palpa, Arghakhanchi and Dang who can regularly work in Rupandehi.
  • Qualified women, persons with disabilities and candidates from marginalized communities are strongly encouraged to apply.
