1. Background and Context
Panchtara Yuwa Samrakshak Manch (PTYSM), Jajarkot is implementing SHIELD-IPF project with partnership World Vision International Nepal. Through the Sponsorship Operation Plan (SOP), WVIN is facilitating the strengthening of child protection system (formal & informal) to functionalize the services in regards to child protection. The programme contribute in creating the safer, protective environment at the community for most vulnerable children so that they are cared, protected and empowered to participate and decide well for them. The organization is also advocating child well-being and other important issues both locally and nationally. This SOP in general seeks to address all four dimensions of WV’s Child Well-Being (CWB) vulnerabilities: extreme deprivation, abusive relationships, disaster and serious discriminations. These vulnerabilities are considered taking into-account the vulnerability markers identified by WVIN through Most Vulnerable Children (MVC) mapping and prioritized by the new Country Strategy 2022-2030.
Child clubs and youth networks serve as critical platforms for meaningful child participation, peer education, and community mobilization. However, children and adolescents face intersecting vulnerabilities including early marriage, teenage pregnancy, limited access to Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), inadequate Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM), substance use, online risks, child labor, and trafficking. Simultaneously, environmental degradation and climate change disproportionately affect children's health, safety, and futures.
Evidence shows that when children are equipped with knowledge, skills, and safe spaces to engage, they become powerful agents of change in their families and communities. Meaningful child participation requires transparent, inclusive, respectful, and safe approaches grounded in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, particularly Article 12 on the right to be heard. Furthermore, integrating environmental stewardship into child protection programming enables holistic development and empowers children to address interconnected challenges.
This ToR outlines the framework for a capacity-building training designed to strengthen child clubs' ability to prevent and respond to protection risks while promoting eco-friendly behaviors through participatory, age-appropriate, and rights-based methodologies.
2. Objectives
Through this "training to child club's members" capacitate the child club's members to strengthen child clubs' ability to prevent and respond to protection risks while promoting eco-friendly behaviors through participatory, age-appropriate, and rights-based methodologies.
