A. Purpose of the Position
The Marketing Officer (General Trade – Faber) is responsible for promoting Small Home Appliances (SHA) through general trade channels, increasing brand visibility, generating sales leads, supporting distributors and retailers, and expanding market coverage.
B. Scope of Work
The role covers market execution, trade marketing activities, retailer engagement, sales support, and coordination with distributors for the SHA product line.
C. Key Responsibilities
Trade Marketing & Promotion
- Promote SHA products in general trade outlets such as retail shops, hardware stores, electronics shops, and wholesalers
- Execute in-store promotions, displays, product demonstrations, and sampling activities
- Ensure proper product visibility, branding, and POSM placement
Distributor & Retailer Coordination
- Coordinate with distributors for stock availability, order placement, and market coverage
- Build strong relationships with retailers and channel partners
- Support distributors in expanding new outlets and territories
Sales Support & Lead Generation
- Generate consumer and institutional leads for SHA sales
- Support sales team in achieving monthly and quarterly sales targets
- Assist in price communication, schemes, and promotional offers
Market Research & Intelligence
- Collect market feedback on product performance, pricing, and customer preferences
- Monitor competitor products, promotions, and market share
- Identify new market opportunities and potential bulk/institutional clients
Product Knowledge & Training
- Maintain strong knowledge of SHA features, and benefits
- Conduct basic product training for retailers and sales promoters
- Address customer queries related to product usage and maintenance
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare daily/weekly field visit reports
- Maintain records of retailers/distributor visited, orders generated, and leads collected
- Submit sales and market feedback reports to management
Deliverables
- Increased product presence and visibility in general trade outlets
- Retailer onboarding and improved distributor coverage
- Regular lead generation and sales support
- Accurate and timely market intelligence reports
D. Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- 1–3 years of experience in FMCG, consumer durables, or general trade marketing
- Experience in water purifier, home appliances, or electronics is an advantage
E. Skills & Competencies
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Market execution and relationship-building ability
- Basic understanding of sales, distribution, and trade marketing
- Ability to work independently in the field
- Basic computer skills (MS Excel, email, reporting)
- Two-wheeler vehicle and license mandatory
- Minimum 3 years experience in relatable field is highly preferred
