ABOUT REDA
Rural Economic Development Association (REDA) is a community-based, non-governmental, and non-profit organization established in 1991 A.D . REDA is dedicated to improving the livelihoods of rural communities through sustainable agriculture, enterprise development, and community empowerment. Working in collaboration with local governments, communities, and national and international donors, REDA promotes inclusive, participatory, and sustainable rural development.
ABOUT THE SPICES PROJECT
The SPICES project, implemented by REDA with financial and technical support from CRS Nepal, promotes a market-based, multi-story agroforestry model to improve the livelihoods of smallholder farming communities in Palpa. The project supports value chain commodity cultivation, processing, and marketing to enhance household income, productivity, and climate resilience.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture (preferably with a focus on high-value crop value chain development) with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or an equivalent field with at least 5 years of experience in agricultural development, especially on Agriculture value chain and marketing with NGOs, INGOs, or government organizations.
- Proven experience in participatory approaches to development
- Candidates with knowledge of training delivery, Monitoring and Evaluation, and extensive experience in community development and private sector engagement will be preferred.
- This position is field-based in a project targeted rural Municipality.
- Engagement with cooperatives to strengthen market linkages, support the organic certification process, and foster collaboration with the private sector.
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English and local languages.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Candidates must be prepared for approximately 90% field presence in rural/remote locations.
