Job Title: Field Officer

Reports to: District Program Coordinator (DPC)

Duty Station: Sindhupalchowk with frequent field visits in program districts

Duration: till Ashadh 32, 2084

Salary and benefits: As per the rules and regulations of the organization (Monthly gross Rs. 30,765)

Responsible for: Contact Office, Program Beneficiaries, School teachers, Friday facilitators, alum and Advocacy group.

1. Introduction

Rural Health and Education Service Trust (RHEST) is a national non-governmental organization established in 1993. RHEST is committed to ending all forms of violence against women and girls, including human trafficking, gender-based violence, child marriage, and child labor, with a particular focus on marginalized communities.

Through its education and health programs, RHEST works to prevent human trafficking and gender-based violence among girls from vulnerable and marginalized groups. To date, RHEST has supported more than 28,000 students in over 18 districts of Nepal, providing access to education in rural communities.

The empowerment of women and girls, along with the promotion of reproductive health and mental wellbeing, remains a central pillar of RHEST's programs.

RHEST is looking for qualified candidates for the post of Field Officer for Sindhupalchowk.

The Field Officer supports RHEST programs in Sindhupalchowk district. This role coordinates field activities and assists girls at risk of trafficking or early marriage. The Field Officer ensures smooth operation of the local contact office and strong community engagement. A commitment to child protection and grassroots advocacy is essential.

Duty Station: Sindhupalchowk with frequent field visits in program districts

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist the team in developing program plans and implementing and monitoring the Stop Girl Trafficking (SGT) program.
• Build and maintain good relationships with government bodies, program-supported schools, School Management Committees (SMC), Parent Teacher Associations (PTA), like-minded NGOs, and other stakeholders.
• Support the supervisor in identifying capacity gaps of RHEST's local mechanisms such as Friday Facilitators, Alum, and Advocacy Groups, and conduct training and capacity development activities to enhance their capacity and encourage participation in advocacy and campaigns at district and local levels.
• Identify issues concerning girls' education, empowerment, and other rights, and plan and conduct advocacy jointly with Alum, Advocacy Groups, and like-minded organizations, and document reports accordingly.
• Prepare visit reports, case studies, and success stories with relevant data and initiate the replication of best practices in the field.

Program-Supported Girls-Specific Role:

• Build rapport with SGT-supported girls and their families, and support them in accessing help such as safe accommodation and counseling in cases of domestic abuse, gender-based violence, or other threatening situations.

Qualifications:

• Intermediate (+2) in any relevant discipline.
• Minimum of two years of relevant work experience in community settings.
• Good coordination, networking, communication, facilitation, advocacy, and financial management skills.
• Experience and willingness to work in remote and underserved communities.
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong written and spoken Nepali language skills. Good English communication skills are desirable. Knowledge of local languages will be an asset.
• Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.

Location Requirement: This is a full-time position based in Sindhupalchowk District. Only applications from candidates who are permanent residents of Sindhupalchowk District will be considered.
