Study on Status of Child Marriage Programming and Development of Child Budget Advocacy Training Manual

A Leading NGO in Nepal seeks a qualified consultant/firm to conduct two major studies;  A comprehensive study to assess the status of child marriage programming in Sudurpaschim Province.

The study on status and impacts of Child Marriage Programming in Sudurpaschim Province will establish an evidence base on current initiatives, analyze the effectiveness of interventions and systemic barriers, and provide actionable recommendations for policy advocacy and program design. Similalry, the Child Budget Advocacy Training Manual will equip advocates and community stakeholders with skills to analyze, influence, and monitor budget allocations for child wellbeing at provincial and local government levels.

A. Child Budget Advocacy Training Manual Development

Job Title: Short-Term Consultant – Training Manual Development

Duration: 40 Working Days

Location: Kathmandu-based (with possible field consultation)

Required Qualification and Experience:

• Master's degree in Public Finance, Economics, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in social sector budgeting, public financial management, local governance, or child rights programming.
• Strong experience in developing training manuals, facilitation guides, or toolkits for government or civil society stakeholders.
• Excellent writing and analytical skills in Nepali (with working proficiency in English for document review).
• Understanding of federal, provincial, and local government planning and budgeting cycles in Nepal.

Duration: 58 Working Days

Location: Kathmandu-based with field visits

Required Qualification and Experience:

• Master’s or PhD in Social Science, Development Studies, Law, Public Health, Gender Studies, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of proven experience in conducting social research, baseline studies, or evaluations for development projects.
• Strong expertise in mixed-methods research (quantitative and qualitative).
• Excellent analytical and report-writing skills in both Nepali and English.
• Experience working in Sudurpaschim Province is a strong advantage.
