Roster of Trainers for Women, Peace and Security and Digital Safety Training

Women Leadership in Technology (WLiT) invites expressions of interest from qualified and experienced trainers/facilitators to be included in a Roster of Trainers for delivering training programmes on Women, Peace and Security (WPS), gender-responsive and inclusive peacebuilding, youth participation, and digital safety/security.

The selected trainers will be engaged on an as-needed basis to facilitate training sessions for women youth, women with disabilities, and male allies at national and provincial levels.

1. Background

Women Leadership in Technology (WLiT) is implementing initiatives to strengthen the leadership, participation, and capacity of women, youth, persons with disabilities, and other marginalized groups in peacebuilding and digital governance.

The training programme aims to strengthen participants' knowledge and practical skills on the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda, meaningful participation in peace and decision-making processes, prevention of violence, digital safety, and inclusive and gender-responsive approaches.

WLiT is therefore establishing a roster of qualified trainers who can contribute to the delivery of these training programmes.

2. Areas of Training

Trainers may be engaged to facilitate sessions on one or more of the following areas:

• Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda and UNSCR 1325

• Four pillars of WPS: Prevention, Participation, Protection, and Relief & Recovery

• Nepal's WPS National Action Plans (NAP I and NAP II)

• Youth, Peace and Security (YPS)

• Meaningful participation and leadership of women and youth in peacebuilding

• Gender-responsive and inclusive peacebuilding

• Disability inclusion and intersectionality in peace and security

• Prevention of gender-based violence

• Online and offline violence against women and girls

• Technology-facilitated gender-based violence (TFGBV)

• Digital safety and cybersecurity

• Online privacy, secure communication, and digital risk management

• Misinformation and disinformation

• Gender bias in Artificial Intelligence (AI)

• Feminist principles of technology and the internet

• Advocacy, public speaking, and policy influence

• Community engagement and peacebuilding

• Facilitation of participatory and experiential learning activities

3. Key Responsibilities of Trainers

The selected trainers will be expected to:

• Deliver assigned training sessions in an engaging, participatory, and inclusive manner.

• Adapt training content to the needs and backgrounds of participants.

• Use participatory methodologies, including group work, discussions, case studies, role plays, reflection exercises, and practical activities.

• Ensure training approaches are gender-responsive, disability-inclusive, youth-friendly, and rights-based.

• Incorporate practical examples relevant to Nepal and participants' local contexts.

• Coordinate with WLiT's training team and resource persons.

• Provide brief reflections or feedback following the training, as required.

• Support pre- and post-training assessments where applicable.

• Maintain professional, respectful, and safe learning environments.

4. Required Qualifications and Experience

Interested applicants should have:

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field such as Gender Studies, Sociology, Development Studies, Peace and Conflict Studies, Mass Communication and Journalism, Human Rights, Law, Political Science, Social Sciences, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.

• At least 3 years of relevant experience in training, facilitation, capacity development, or adult learning.

• Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience in one or more of the thematic areas listed above.

• Experience facilitating training for women, youth, persons with disabilities, civil society organizations, government representatives, or other diverse groups.

• Strong communication, presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.

• Understanding of gender equality, inclusion, human rights, and safeguarding principles.

• Experience using participatory and learner-centred training methodologies.

• Knowledge of Nepal's WPS context will be an advantage.

5. Desirable Experience

Preference may be given to trainers with:

• Experience working on the Women, Peace and Security agenda.

• Experience working with women with disabilities and/or organizations of persons with disabilities (OPDs).

• Experience working with youth and youth-led organizations.

• Experience in digital safety, cybersecurity, online gender-based violence, or digital rights.

• Experience developing or delivering training curricula.

• Experience conducting training in different provinces or local contexts of Nepal.

• Fluency in Nepali and English.

6. Duration and Engagement

Trainers will be included in the WLiT Roster of Trainers and may be engaged periodically based on programme requirements, thematic expertise, availability, and geographic location.

Being included in the roster does not guarantee a training assignment. Individual trainers will be contracted or assigned separately for specific training engagements.

7. Application Requirements

• Experience with WPS, gender, disability inclusion, youth, and/or digital safety;

• Geographic areas of availability.

8. Selection Criteria

Applicants will be assessed based on:

• Training and facilitation experience;

• Experience with gender-responsive and inclusive approaches;

• Experience working with youth and/or persons with disabilities;

• Knowledge of WPS and related frameworks;

• Communication and facilitation skills;

• Availability and geographic coverage.
