Ai4Ed Nepal: Quality Education Service Delivery through Innovation

The British Council in Nepal invites applications for a Super Mentor (Consultant) to lead the action research component of the Ai4Ed Nepal: Quality Education Service Delivery through Innovation project.

About the Project

Ai4Ed Nepal aims to strengthen the quality of basic education service delivery in Nepal through the responsible and effective implementation of artificial intelligence (AI).

Phase One combines a national mixed-methods study with teacher-led classroom action research, structured through the British Council’s Action Research and Mentorship Scheme (ARMS). The action research strand focuses on how teachers can use AI tools to enhance lesson preparation and teaching practice. It does not promote student use of AI in classrooms nor seek to replace teachers; rather, it supports teacher professional development and informed pedagogical decision-making.

This consultancy relates to Phase One - Action Research on AI in Classrooms only.

Role Overview

The Super Mentor provides high-level methodological oversight and strategic leadership for the action research component. The role ensures that 18 teacher-led inquiries generate rigorous, practice-based evidence that complements the national study.

The Super Mentor will:

  • Design and deliver a 2-day intensive training for six Tier-2 Mentors
  • Provide ongoing mentor support (primarily online) through regular group meetings and individual check-ins
  • Ensure quality assurance and ethical standards across all teacher inquiries
  • Review selected inquiry plans and reflection journals and provide formative feedback
  • Synthesise findings from all 18 teacher inquiries
  • Draft the action research section of the Phase One report
  • Organise and moderate a national sharing event (August 2026)
  • Provide brief monthly updates to the British Council research team

The role requires travel at least once to each of the target provinces: Madhesh and Lumbini (travel costs covered in line with British Council policy).
