Karnali Community Development Centre (KCDC) is a service-oriented humanitarian and development focused non-governmental organization (NGO) registered with the District Administration Office, Mugu, Nepal, in 2062 B.S. (2005 A.D.). KCDC has been working to promote sustainable community development and is actively engaged in various social and rural development initiatives. Major thematic areas of KCDC are Food and Nutrition Security, Agriculture and Livelihood development, Maternity, Newborn, and Child Health Care, Public Health, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Renewable and Clean Energy promotion, Rural infrastructure development, Disaster and Climate Change Management and humanitarian support and interventions, social empowerment and poverty reduction.
With the technical and financial support of WELT HUNGER HILFE (WHH) Nepal, Karnali Community Development Centre (KCDC), Mugu is implementing the Learn to Lead: Nurturing Young Minds in Mugu Project in Chhayanath Rara Municipality and Khatayad Rural Municipality, of Mugu District.
Project Brief: Learn to Lead – Nurturing Young Minds in Mugu
The Learn to Lead: Nurturing Young Minds in Mugu project aims to empower children, youth, and marginalized communities in Mugu District, Karnali Province, through an integrated approach to nutrition, WASH, food systems, enterprise development, and quality learning environments.
The project will be implemented in three years in selected six schools from Chayanath Rara and Khatyad Rural Municipalities. The project has targeted school youths as change agents to promote improved nutrition, WASH, food system awareness, and entrepreneurship within their schools and communities.
Key interventions include enhancing school environments through youth-led initiatives and renovations, promoting WASH and nutrition-sensitive behaviors, strengthening food and enterprise systems, building youth and women’s entrepreneurship skills, and fostering leadership and civic participation for inclusive local development.
Karnali Community Development Center (KCDC), Mugu invites application from dynamic, energetic, experienced, self-motivated and qualified Nepalese candidates for the following position for Learn to Lead: Nurturing Young Minds in Mugu.
1. Project Coordinator -1 No.

Minimum Qualification, Experience and required skills:
- Minimum bachelor’s degree academic qualification in relevant sector preferable to Public Health, Agriculture or Minimum bachelor’s degree in development studies and education (Major English) with at least 3 years’ experience of thematic areas like Health, Education Nutrition, WASH, Food system or enterprise development.
- Minimum five years of progressive experience in project coordination, governance, or community development in areas like Nutrition, WASH, Food System and Enterprise development.
- Fluency in Nepali, English, and local dialects (spoken & written).
- Skilled in MS Office and digital communication tools.
- Strong leadership, teamwork, and reporting abilities.
- Must be a local resident of Mugu District.
- Willingness to travel frequently and work flexibly.
- Experience in advocacy, policy dialogue, media coordination, and participatory facilitation.
- Ability to perform well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Valid two-wheeler license preferred.

2. Project officer: - 2 No. (One in Chhayanath Rara Municipality and One in Khatyad Rural Municipality.)

Minimum Qualification, Experience and required skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant sectors such as Public Health and Agriculture, or Junior Agriculture Technician (JTA) /Agriculture Technician with bachelor’s degree in any faculty or EDF Training with bachelor’s degree in any faculty with a minimum of 3 years of field-level and sector-specific work experience in Nutrition, WASH, Enterprise considering school youths as change agents.
- Fluency in languages: Nepali, English and local dialect both written and spoken.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other digital communication tools.
- Leadership quality.
- Excellent report writing skills.
- Local residence of the district.
- Willingness to travel frequently to project areas and work flexibly as required.
- Demonstrated experience in advocacy, policy dialogue, media coordination, and participatory facilitation.
- Ability to work under strict deadlines.
- Preferably, have a two-wheeler.

3. Construction Technician – 1 No.

Minimum Qualification, Experience and required skills:
- Minimum certificate level in Civil Engineering/Bachelor's in Civil Engineering with at least three years of practical experience in small-scale construction or renovation works.
- Should have expertise in data analysis and report writing.
- Should have team mobilization, communication and survey design skills.
- Ability to communicate in English, Nepali and local language.
- Ability to work under strict deadlines.
- Proficiency in MS word, Excel, PowerPoint, email and internet.
- Skilled in masonry, carpentry, and basic plumbing or electrical works.
- Knowledge of local construction materials and techniques suitable for remote areas.
- Preferably, have a two-wheeler.

4. Field Mobilizer – 4 No. (Two in Chhayanath Rara Municipality and 2 in Khatyad Rural Municipality)

Minimum Qualification, Experience and required skills:
- Having academic qualification of Certificate/+2 level preferable in Health Sciences (Health Assistant, PCL Nursing) or Agriculture, EDF Training with certificate level in any faculty or related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in Nutrition, WASH, Food System and community mobilization with school youth engagement.
- Should have expertise in data analysis and report writing.
- Experiences working in remote rural settings preferred.
- Ability to communicate in English, Nepali and local language.
- Ability to work under strict deadlines.
- Proficiency in MS words, Excel, Power Point, email and internet.
- Preference to 2 wheelers due to extensive field visit.
