“Promoting Resilience and Enterprise Development through Local Resource Utilization in Nepal (PRERANA)” project is funded by Bayer Foundation, Bayer’s Social Innovation Program (SIP) and led by iDE, Nepal in Kaski and Syangja districts. LI-BIRD will implement this project in Machhapuchre and Madi Rural Municipalities of Kaski district. This project aims to improve resilience, health, nutrition, and economic prosperity at the household level by improving access to and equitable use of nutrition specific, nutrition-sensitive, climate-resilience services and improving healthy habits and practices.
“Empowering and Innovative Designing for Protecting Nutrient Dense Food: Rural Market Development (RMD)” project is funded by USAID, Food System and Nutrition Innovation Lab (FSNIL) and led by iDE, Nepal in Kaski, Syangja, and Myagdi districts. LI-BIRD will implement this project in the same municipalities as PRERANA project. This project aims to strengthen the supply chain of nutrientsensitive vegetables and fruits in rural Nepal markets by facilitating technology commercialization backed by research and adaptive, human-centered design principles.
‘Cultivating Change in a Warming World’ project is funded by Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) and is jointly implemented by LI-BIRD and OXFAM Nepal in Kanchanpur, Doti and Dailekh districts. The project envisions rural women, and their communities are thriving and empowered agents of change in a fair, green, equal and safe world. It aims to increase resilience, food, nutrition and income security of rural women and their communities, and with their allies, and movement, have the power to transform the systems of inequality and rights and abuses that are causing hunger and climate and ecological breakdown. Additionally, the project aims to improve coping strategies in communities by increasing the intake of nutritious food based on local biodiversity and better management of neglected and underutilized species. The project also aims to advocate for supportive policies and institutions for farmers' seed systems, agroecological approaches, and the implementation of farmers' rights.

1. Senior Programme Officer (Level 8) -1, PRERANA and RMD Project, based at LI-BIRD Head Office, Ranipauwa)
Job Summary: Reporting to the Team Leader, Senior Programme Officer (SPO) is primarily responsible for leading the field implementation of the PRERANA and RMD projects - providing overall leadership and management of the project in Kaski district. The key duties of SPO includes project planning, implementation and coordination, monitoring and quality control, and data management, synthesis and report writing, and communication, linkages, and networking. The SPO will supervise the fieldbased staff and will be responsible for ensuring that the project activities contribute to the overall project goal, objectives, and outcomes. The SPO is also required to coordinate with the local and provincial governments and district line agencies and other key stakeholders in planning and implementation of the project to ensure adequate programme synergies, resource leveraging and scaling up of potential innovations.
Education and Experience: Master's in agriculture with a major in agri-business, soil-science, agroecology or other relevant subjects with three years of work experience.
2. Marketing Supervisor (Level 5) -1, PRERANA and RMD Project, based at LI-BIRD Head Office, Ranipauwa
Job Summary: The Market Supervisor reports to the Senior Programme Officer and will be primarily responsible for supporting the planning and implementation of the project. The key role of market Supervisor includes development of business plan for promotion and marketing of Trichovermicompost as well as in marketing and post-harvest handling of fruits and fresh vegetables in the project’s working areas in coordination with the cooperatives, farmer groups, local governments and private sectors. The Market Supervisor is also required to supervise and guide Market Facilitators for the marketing-related interventions in the field.
Education and Experience: Master's in management with one year of experience or bachelor's in management (specialization in marketing preferred) with three years of work experience in promotion of agricultural goods and services in coordination with the private sectors, NGOs and cooperatives.
3. Technical Assistant (Level 4) -2, PRERANA and RMD Project, Field based (One each at Machhapuchhre and Madi Rural Municipality)
Job Summary: The Technical Assistant reports to the Senior Programme Officer and will be primarily responsible for implementing day-to-day field-level activities in each rural municipality. The Technical Assistant will work closely with farmers, groups, cooperatives, youths, local government, and relevant stakeholders to plan, implement, and coordinate the project activities at the community level to promote Tricho-vermicompost and post-harvest technologies in the project areas.
Education and Experience: Intermediate in Agriculture Science (Plant Science) or JT with three years' experience or JTA in Agriculture (Plant Science) with five years of work experience in a rural setting.
4. Market Facilitator (Level 2) -2, PRERANA and RMD Project, Field based (One each at Machhapuchhre and Madi Rural Municipality)
Job Summary: The Market Facilitator reports to the Technical Assistant and will be responsible for supporting the field level interventions of the project in each rural municipality. This includes marketing and promotion of Tricho-vermicompost and post-harvest technologies in coordination with the cooperatives, farmer groups, local government and private sectors in the project areas.
Education and Experience: Intermediate level or 10+2 with competency in Agri-Marketing and two years of work experience in a similar field. JTA in Agriculture (Plant Science) with one year of work experience in agri-marketing are also encouraged to apply.
5. Admin and Finance Assistant (Level 4) -1 (Cultivating Change Project, based at LI-BIRD Site Office, Dailekh)
JOB SUMMARY: Reporting to the Programme Officer, the Admin & Finance Assistant (AFA) will be primarily responsible for account keeping of the project. S/he will also support the project team on administration, procurement and logistics management. S/he will coordinate with relevant staff to ensure accounting and documentation of all financial transactions are carried out accurately and in a timely manner.
Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree in commerce/management, with two years of relevant work experience or 10+2 in management with four years' experience in relevant field.
