Bheri Environmental Excellence Group (BEE-Group) is an autonomous, independent, non-partisan, and non-governmental organization. It was established in 2000 AD, registered in District Administration Office, Banke, and affiliated to the Social Welfare Council, Kathmandu. BEE-Group has been doing collaborative advocacy for the protection and promotion of human rights, establishment of social justice, gender equality, and social inclusion and environmental conservation, and community development through the community empowerment and mobilization for meaningful participation and networking since its establishment in the Lumbini and Karnali Province of Nepal with building a trustworthy reputation.

BEE-Group is going to implement an anticipated project, namely Telethon; Child not Bride in Geruwa Rural Municipality, Thakurbaba Municipality, Madhuban Municipality and Barabardiya Municipality of Bardiya district partnership with Plan International Nepal. And BEE-Group is seeking qualified experienced, self-motivated following staff members for the mentioned project. The project aims to strengthen the system for preventing child early and forced marriages. 

1. Position: Technical Coordinator (Education) – One

Duty Station: Based at field office, Bardiya and frequently visit to project area

Job Summary: The technical coordinator will perform for providing leadership in the education theme. The coordinator will directly report to the project manager. The major duty includes; design the project activities, budgeting, and implementation, monitoring and reporting regarding the education theme. Facilitate the local government and civil society organization for strengthening the system for quality education making the child-friendly environment with child protection safety culture for girls and young women, and promotion and protection of child rights and preventing the child early and forced marriage. The technical coordinator will also be responsible for strengthening the capacity of stakeholders in the formulation of the required policy and plan and its implementation for better education and a safe environment for child girls and young women.

Key responsibility: 

  • Ensuring that the adequate understanding of the project plan and approaches by staff and stakeholders and provide necessary technical guidance to them for quality education and make child-friendly environment. 
  • Timely and quality delivery of the project activities including the training, workshop, and support to the targeted individuals and stakeholders.
  • Planning and implementation of project activities properly ensuring the monitoring.
  • Support the finance officer and ensure proper management of financial transactions referring to the compliances.
  • Support to the monitoring, evaluation, reporting and learning officer in documentation, generation of appropriate knowledge product as per the project plan and reporting to the partner organization and donor agency according to the agreed standards and timely manner.
  • Assess Menstrual Hygiene Management requirement of the project schools in coordination with Technical coordinator Lead and Decide and plan necessary intervention based on the available resources in the project. 
  • Work closely with the local government, civil society organizations and ensure that the highest level of coordination for smooth implementation of project interventions and advocate to review and update education related policies and implement these policies.
  • Facilitate SMC/PTA meetings to formulate their child protection policies and execute complaints handling mechanism at schools, 
  • Coordinate with Palikas to identify out of school children and make plan to bring them back in school. Follow up with school to ensure that the disability inclusion has been ensured. 
  • Support and facilitate the field team for collecting the project progress, challenges and opportunities and report to the partner organization regularly.
  • Support and play the role for establishing the congenial reflective learning environment within a project team, organization and functionalization of effective teamwork.

Competencies and personal specification: 

  • Proven skill and knowledge about promoting of quality education, safer school environment, protection mechanism at school and strong conceptual, interpersonal communication, negotiation, facilitation and representation skills with working experiences in areas of education for preventing child early and forced marriage. 
  • Proven knowledge, skills and experiences for facilitation in the formulation of policies and plans for quality education at schools building relationships and working in partnership with local government, civil society organizations and maintaining the congenial working relationship with all stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated skills in team-building with an ability to coach and mentor the project team.  
  • Proven knowledge and skills in program planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting.
  • Proven experiences in working with diverse community, cultures and ability to cope stress and decision-making with appropriate communication. 
  • Good commanding in English and Nepali both written and spoken with MS PowerPoint, Word and Excel. 

Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Education with at least three years of relevant work experience. The candidate should be well familiar and committed to promoting and protecting child rights, women rights and preventing child early and forced marriage. The candidate must have a valid motorbike/scooter license and be willing to travel in the community frequently.    

2. Position: Technical Coordinator (SBCC and Child Protection) – One

Duty Station: Based at field office, Bardiya and frequently visit to project area

Job Summary: The technical coordinator will be overall responsible for playing a vital role in developing SBCC strategies, building the child protection system and strengthening the capacity of stakeholders. The coordinator will directly report to the project manager. The major duty includes; design the project activities, budgeting and implementation, monitoring and reporting of SBCC and child protection related activities and facilitate the local government and civil society organization for strengthening the child protection system. The coordinator will work closely with the municipal level child rights committee, Civil society Networks, religious group networks, media workers and provide support to them in formulation of the required policies, planning and implementation of activities as well as developing and disseminating appropriate information related to child protection to contribute preventing the child early and forced marriage.

Key responsibility: 

  • Ensuring that the adequate understanding of the project plan and approaches by providing orientation to staff and stakeholders and provide necessary technical guidance to them for establishing the child protection mechanism and its functionalization. 
  • Facilitate monthly meetings of Child Right Committees, Civil Society Organizations, facilitate to develop their action plan to prevent child early and forced marriages and follow up with them to ensure that they have implemented the action plan. 
  • Capacitate the Child Rights Committee on Case management process and facilitate them to lobby with the local government to ensure the availability of enough resources to respond the cases, 
  • Carry out stakeholders analysis and develop a well set of referral mechanism to provide necessary support to the children when needed, 
  • Establish a system of regular collection of marriage data through CSO or CRC, update it and analyze it periodically and share the status report to the local government as the evidence for advocacy, 
  • Follow up with religious group networks, medias workers to ensure that they are motivated and working against CEFM, 
  • Develop appropriate SBCC strategy and disseminate enough information targeting to different stakeholders like parents, teachers, religious leaders, matchmaker, priest, maulanas etc. so that they also support to mitigate CEFM,
  • Timely and quality delivery of the project activities including the training, workshop, and support to the targeted individuals and stakeholders.

The incumbents is expected to have adequate knowledge on policies and plans related to child protection systems strengthening specially on reducing child early and forced marriage. Likewise strong conceptual clarity in project management, interpersonal communication skill, negotiation skills, and facilitation skills is expected.
  • Proven knowledge, skills and experiences for facilitation in the formulation of policies and plans for protection and promotion of child rights building relationships and working in partnership with local government, child rights committee, and civil society organizations and maintaining the congenial working relationship with all stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated skills in team-building with an ability to coach and mentor the project team.

Education and Experience: At least a Bachelor's Degree in Law, Social Science or Rural Development or any discipline from a recognized institute with at least three years of experience in the similar field working with I/NGOs. The candidate must have a valid motorbike/scooter license and be willing to travel in the community frequently.

3. Position: Technical Coordinator (Lead and Decide-SRHR) – One

Duty Station: Based at field office, Bardiya and frequently visit to project area

Job Summary:The technical coordinator will be overall responsible for playing a vital role in agency development and strengthening their capacity for informed decision making regarding comprehensive sexuality education and SRHR. The coordinator will directly report to the project manager and partner organization. The major duty includes; design the project activities, budgeting and implementation, monitoring and reporting youth empowerment and SRHR related activities. In addition to this, the coordinator will facilitate the Champions of Changes (COCs) local government and civil society organization (CSO) for strengthening the existing systems and mechanisms related to sexual and reproductive health rights. The coordinator will work closely with the local government and civil society organization, and provide support to them in establishment of adequate facilities and resources for adolescent girls and boys about comprehensive sexual reproductive and health rights ensuring safety culture for girls and young women, and promotion and protection of child rights and preventing the child early and forced marriage.

Key responsibility: 

  • Ensuring that the adequate understanding of the project plan and approaches by staff and stakeholders and provide necessary technical guidance to them for the establishment of strong service delivery mechanism and resources regarding sexual and reproductive health rights with adequate facilities and sustainable functionality. 
  • Coordinate with schools and local government to identify the focal teacher for comprehensive sexuality education (CSE), facilitate CSE trainings to teachers and ensure that the trained teachers have adequately and appropriately rolled out the trainings to the students, 
  • Formulate Champion of Change(COC) groups and ensure that the COC classes are properly implemented in the community incorporating both school going and out of school children, 
  • Facilitate COC members to develop their annual plan and support them to carry out it. Likewise, develop some relevant extra-curricular activities mostly related to the project objective and encourage COC members to implement these extra-curricular activities, 
  • Develop COC as the movement and encourage the participants to reach every household with SRHR related information,  
  • Carry out dialogue with religious leaders, parents, adolescents and youths on SRHR issues and how child, early marriage affect sexual and reproductive health, 
  • Advocate with schools, local health facilities and local government to establish Adolescent friendly health service and develop local curriculum on SRHR. 
  • Timely and quality delivery of the project activities including the training, workshop, and support to the targeted individuals and stakeholders.

  • Proven knowledge, skills and experiences for facilitation in the formulation of policies and plans for protection and promotion of child rights building relationships and working in partnership with local government, child rights committee, and civil society organizations and maintaining the congenial working relationship with all stakeholders for effective service delivery regarding sexual and reproductive health rights.
  • Demonstrated skills in team-building with an ability to coach and mentor the project team.  
  • Proven knowledge and skills in program planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting.
  • Proven experiences in working with diverse community, cultures and ability to cope stress and decision-making with appropriate communication. 
  • Good commanding in English and Nepali both written and spoken with MS PowerPoint, Word and Excel. 

Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in public health or health from a recognized institute with at least one year of experience in the similar field or Bachelor degree in any discipline with at least three to five years of relevant experience working with I/NGOs. The candidate must have a valid motorbike/scooter license and be willing to travel in the community frequently.
