Senior Project Coordination Officer/Senior Associate/Agribusiness Associate/Project Assistant

Nepal’s terai flood plain is hard hit by recurrent climate emergencies and a humanitarian crisis induced by returning economically displaced migrant workers. The new project, titled ‘Building Climate Resilience and Reintegrating Economically Displaced Workers through Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) in the Terai Flood Plain, Nepal (2022-2025)’ - hereafter KOICA CSA project - will support widespread adoption of climate-smart agriculture to reduce vulnerability and improve food and job security, especially for women, youth, and returned migrant workers. It will do this by a) improving emergency management in the agriculture sector to protect lives and livelihoods; b) strengthening resilient agriculture planning and implementation; and by c) building and financing climate-smart agriculture businesses for job creation and long-term resilient green growth.

GGGI is looking for the following agriculture experts to be based in Janakpur, Nepal to support the Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) project:

• Senior Project Coordination Officer (X-9) – This position will be assisting the GGGI Country Representative Nepal in implementing the KOICA CSA project. The Senior Project Coordination Officer aligns the project with the project goals and will develop detailed work plans, manage an implementing team, achieve milestones, and communicate the results across key stakeholders.
• Senior Associate - Disaster Risk Management (DRM) and Agriculture (X-7) – This position will provide crucial assistance to improvement of emergency management in the agriculture sector to protect lives and livelihoods as part of the KOICA CSA project.
• Agribusiness Associate (X-6) – This position will assist the implementation of the KOICA CSA project by investing in climate-smart agriculture for job creation and competitiveness through operationalizing the Terai Agribusinesses and Enterprise Challenge Fund. 
• Project Assistant (X-4) – This position will provide technical support to the project team in project operation and specific project/output delivery of the KOICA CSA project.

The start of these positions is currently pending signing of the contract between GGGI and KOICA.
