John D. Rockefeller 3rd Scholars Program (JDR3) on Policy Research on Trafficking in Person (TIP) in Nepal
The JDR3 Program in Nepal is being implemented in collaboration with the Hamro Samman Project, a five-year project generously supported by the American people through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the British people through UK aid implemented by Winrock International. The Hamro Samman goal is to reduce the prevalence of trafficking in persons (TIP) in 10 strategically selected districts of Nepal.
The JDR3 program provides policy research grants to individual or team of mid-career professionals to strengthen their capacity for research on human trafficking and policy engagement. The JDR3 research studies aim to support government agencies and policymakers by expanding the knowledge base on human trafficking. The research also aims to contribute to Hamro Samman’s activities focused on learning and adapting.
The JDR3 Program will award maximum of USD 20,000 grant per research topics. The winning research Individual or teams are expected to work on the research project for 3-6 months.
Topic 1: Barriers to TIP victims’ access to justice in Nepal (federal, provincial, local) and the hosting countries
Topic 2: Vulnerability and Trafficking in Persons (TIP) in Foreign Employment Sector of Nepal
Topic 3: Practices and approaches to reintegrate TIP survivors in Nepal
